    Need help with SMD CAP

so i have found a SMD ceramic capacitor on a gaming console motherboard which i have tried to test with multimeter but im not getting anything at all every other cap i test i can get a reading ,I understand that it is not always possible to get a correct reading when still on the pcb but i thought i should be able to get something.

I have also found a SOT-23 transistor that i can not get any readings from labeled KN all other SOT-23 i can get a reading however i can not find another labeled KN so im not sure if it is just the way that one is meant to be until it has current pass through.

What type of reading are you expecting? are you using a cap tester? or just ohm meter...
an ohm meter will only show leakage if its set high enough to read that...
trouble with testing caps in circuit with a cap tester is you may get other stray capacitance from surrounding components.. and unless a cap is obviously burned or damaged there is not easy to determine if its functioning.. at least not in circuit..
one of my pet peeves is no markings on a lot of SMD chip caps..
