    Bestec ATX0300F5WA - fast,or slow blow, fuse?
    by socketa
I bought a dead motherboard, and connected it to this PSU,
Was checking the standby voltages on the motherboard, and, whilst doing so, the PSU made a loud bang with a flash of light.
So now i truly got a bang for my bucks, and something else to try and fix.
The fuse was blowen, and the top was blowen off of a TNY276PN chip
The glass fuse didn't have any marking to say if it was fast or slow blow
So i checked the marking on the PCB thinking that that would tell me,
but it 's got a T/F8A printed on the board
So should i get a fast blow fuse, or should...

Why did my MOSFET blow up?
    by ohren
I had a switching transistor and PWM IC blow up as part of a repair, where a big chunk of each went missing. Now I would like to understand the likely turn of events, and maybe determine if I did something stupid. If nothing else, I should at least extract some lessons from it.

"IC10" can be found on page 169 in the service manual:

    https://www.manualslib.com/download/...n-Mas-101.html

The entirety of the repair is basically:

    1. Device doesn't power on (IC10 supply voltage unstable)
    2. Replaced C18 and C66
    3. Device works...

Short cirucit across UART chip legs.
    by Califauna
    Hi all. First post here.

I have an EKS XP10 midi controller with a Burr Brown DAC. When plugging in the controller it isn't being recognised by Windows. I have two more of the same controllers. Only this one has this problem.

I have looked and found that two of the legs on the UART chip, at the bottom of the picture, are shorted. These are not shorted on the good boards I have. It's possible to see a little metal exposed under there between the legs. Not sure why as I didn't think there should be track there.

What's the recommended fix for this? Snipping...

bad cap cause fuse to blow?
    by paulmars
microwave oven Fuse blew, replacement blew too after 1\2 second.

Following common resistance test procedures found on the web the magnetron and transformer are fine.

The big capacitor tests open. The diode attached to it reads mostly open in one direction, although sometimes my dvm will jump down to several meg ohms for a fraction of a second. Testing in other directions reads a constantly changing value of 5xxMeg to 8xxMeg.

Would these cause the fuse to blow?

    Tks,

Sundown SFB-8000D What are these transistors?
    by redbaron1007
I had a Sundown SFB-8000D amp come into the shop yesterday that wasn't giving any output. The guy who brought it in said he bought it off some crack head on Facebook marketplace for a good price, but bought it knowing it was broken. Apparently the original owner was cutting out the transistors to the right of the ones pictured whenever one would blow and take the output out. Best I can figure he also cut the legs on the S5 and S6 ic's as well and soldered them back together.

My problem is Sundown decided in the factory to remove the original markings on the IC's and now I can't figure...
