Just to clarify, it's not only that it is not working when the cable is attached. Once the cable has been connected the device no longer turns on, even after the cable is removed. It will then only turn on again correctly once the battery has been disconnected then reconnected....

Connecting charger cable causes Sony WH-10000MX2 bluetooth headphones to stop working
Hi,
I have a pair of WH-10000MX2 bluetooth headphones with a strange problem. Connecting the charging cable causes the headphones to no longer turn on when pressing the power button.
I thought I had 'fixed' this when I took them apart and disconnected the battery for 15 minutes and found as soon as you disconnect the battery they can be powered on and off as normal using the power button. But then the moment you connect a charging or data cable to a charger or laptop USB port, the power button stops working and the can't be turned on again. No response.
The...

After replacing the mentioned resistor this has been working for me for a few weeks now. I couldn't manage to solder it using an iron, so I used hot air.
Never sold anything this small before. When I received the packet of resistors I thought I had been ripped off and almost ordered another packet. All I could find were specks of dust until I thought to look at them using my phone as a microscope.

Hi all. I'm having the same problem with my board. Confirmed that the 10 ohm resistor identified in the picture (where it says "This one") is blown on my board and is reading infinite resistance on the meter. I have another of the same board and on that board the resistance is 10 Ohms.
Is anyone able to confirm if this is a design flaw with these boards? I can use the other board as a donor and take it's IC and resistor and place it there (or buy them) but if it's likely to blow again I'd like to know what to do first.
Also, is it necessary to unsolder the two...Last edited by Califauna; 01-05-2024, 01:45 PM.

Re: MSI P65 GPU (20250Ti) problem
Can't find a schematic. Only can find a very basic one for the 8RE model, whereas mine is an 8RD.
This laptop is about 2 years old. There is no water damage.
Regarding HDMI, the dGPU is not accessible to applications (and doesn't appear to work at all) even when HDMI is not connected. Running GPU-Z's performance tests on the dGPU when the HDMI is not connected produces similar monitoring data.

MSI P65 GPU (20250Ti) problem
I have a P65 8RD Creator with a dedicated Nvidia GTX 1050Ti GPU.
The 1050Ti GPU doesn't work to work at all. Connecting the HDMI just causes hanging and constant switching between the integrated Intel GPU and back to the 1050Ti.
I have tried with a new 180w charger for this laptop and have tried with a 20v 260 watt charger for the GE75 as well and it doesn't remedy it.
I include the screen shots and monitoring hml file from afterburner and GPU-Z.
Have done a bunch of stuff (reflash original vBIOS, update BIOS and EC firmware, reinstall...Last edited by Califauna; 04-14-2022, 07:31 AM.

Re: MSI GE75 Loptop with black screen
It was a connection problem to the board in the end. Screen cable. Couldn't see it at first because its hidden by the heat sink assembly.
MSI identified the part number for the cable and I bought one online and it works now.
Cheers.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S5 no sound
I have found out that the MB is completely missing a 'Low frequency filter' component. It must have fallen off at some point.

Anyone know where I can get one of these?
EDIT: According to the service manual this component is an 'inductor', and from what I gather is the same component as the one next to it. Seems to be possible to buy this component online if you search for the part number (2703-004597).

Re: Samsung Galaxy S5 no sound
I've found that actually the ear speaker is working. Turning up the 'in call volume' in setting I can hear it over the squealing sound. No such luck with the ringer volume, or playing music/Youtube videos though, which produce no sound at all through the main speaker.

Samsung Galaxy S5 no sound
Hi, I'm new here.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 which produces no sound through either the top or bottom loudspeaker. The top loudspeaker produces a constant, very faint high pitched squeal.
I have tried:
1. Using the housing of another S5, as this housing contains the top loudspeaker.
2. Replacing the bottom loudspeaker with a new one.
3. Full reset.
The symptoms do not change after the above changes. The phone works fine apart from this.
The phone operating system is Lineage 9.
I have a soldering station,...

Help with boom box modification
Hi, this is more of a project help request than a troubleshooting question. I hope I can post it here.
I have a W-King D8 Bluetooth boom box which I'd like to modify with some external speaker output jacks and some buttons to switch the internal speakers on and off.
From factory the specs of the boom box are:
-Power Input: DC 5V
-Speaker Output Power: 2 x 25W ( confirmed by Youtube channel Hartdegen review as 12.5W RMS per channel)
-Drivers:
-2 x Woofer, 70mm, 10Ω, 70mm,15W
-2 X Tweeter, 8Ω, 30mm,10W x 2
-Frequency...Last edited by Califauna; 12-04-2021, 01:57 PM.

Re: Motherboard to LCD EDP Cable for MSI GE75 10SF
That one's for the GE75 10SFS-067 whereas my laptop model is the GE75 10SF-035, but I'm getting the impression it would be compatible.
If it is, then comparing with the screen I have already bought, it has the same resolution, number of pins, basic signal type (edp), number of lanes, dimensions, etc, but a couple of differences:
The monitor I have bought is listed as:
144hz.
3.3v(typ.) input voltage. I am guessing typ. means typical.
eDP1.3.
That monitor is listed...Last edited by Califauna; 08-05-2021, 10:16 AM.

Re: Motherboard to LCD EDP Cable for MSI GE75 10SF
I think the problem with an adapter might be that there isn't enough space under the bezel. It's tight as it is. I might try though if I can't find a cable (and if anyone can confirm here if that LCD would work if connected using the right cable).
