    The CH341A doesn't read anything, but maybe that's because I'm a noob :D

    Hello,

I'm desperately trying to get my CH341A to work, but it seems that all my attempts have failed. Despite everything, I want to check that it works, the aim being to read at least one chip and “screenshot” the configuration for me to use as a reference.

Here are the steps (software part):
    - I'm running Windows 11 Pro 64-bit (10.0 build 26100)
    - Drivers are installed (no error messages) and there are no problems in the Device Manager.
    - Set the language to English (to avoid the CH341A's basic software bug)
    - Does not work on AsProgrammer 2.1.2, CH341A_134, CH241A_V2.1 and NeoProgrammer 2.2

Here are the steps (hardware part):
    - See the 2 photos to understand pin positioning (on programmer and clamp)

    Is everything normally connected correctly?
    I'll keep investigating

    Thanks for your help,

i cant see if you have the jumper on pins 1&2,
also you have the adapter/ribbon in the wrong way around.
pin1 of the chip/adapter faces AWAY from the usb connector

And how do you want to count, record a dump with a clothespin from 8 pin from a 16 pin chip....

Yes, there is a jumper on pins 1 and 2. I can't figure out the orientation of the wires. If possible, can you draw me a diagram (even on paint ^^) describing exactly which wires go in which direction? I've tried it with your images attached, is it any good?

Interestingly, when I put the green adapter on the right-hand side and connect the clamp. The run led (bottom left of the programmer) lights up (depending on the connection, it dims or increases in intensity) but if the green adapter is on the left of the key, the run led doesn't light up.

On the other hand, my clamp doesn't stay in place and jumps out every time I try to fit it onto the winbond chip. If you undo and redo the clamp a million times, could this have an effect on the grip?

Ah ok the ch3741a can't reprogram this chip ^^'
          Otherwise the connections are good?

For spi flash (25 series) the connection is indicated on the programmer itself. You need to unsolder the chip and program it through an adapter. Or an adapter SOP16 to DIP8.

You are mess arround with pin connection of adapter, and wire and clip (soic-16 ic...), it is no strange that did not work. On ch341 ziff socket, there is only two position: very top 8 pins, and very botton 8 pins. There is no any "middle" position for valid connection. Orijentation of adapter is that pin#1 is toward lever of ziff socket, for both position, and red wire is as close to pin#1 of adapter. On other side, 8 pin clamp, claw... red wire must be on pin#1 of 8-legged ic, either 24xx or 25xx or other... if you using that clamp.

[Question] Ch341a and 5v to 3.3v with logic converter
                  by md500
zz0.8tpitu4y0i8zzI bought a ch341a (I'm waiting for it to arrive) and I noticed that the programmer has a bug that the data pins go to 5v when the VCC pin is at 3.3v (which is the voltage I'm looking for).

Instead of doing the 3.3v mod, I'm thinking of converting the 5v to 3.3v with an 8 channel TXS0108E through the ZIF socket but I don't know if that would work, because it has to circulate voltage and also information.

What I am looking for is something that will convert from 5v to 3.3v but without modifying the ch341a.

                  I can't buy the ch341a 1.6v that has...

acer XC-605 CH341A Programs Correctly but BIOS Still Won't Work
                  by shuten
hi all, so i have an acer XC-605 desktop which i believe had a bad bios flash.
i setup an ssd for it and it didnt get recognized in the bios so i attempted a bios update with the provided gui from acers website (going from P11.A2 to P11.B4). i rebooted and it seemed the bios update was successful but when i turned off the pc, it would no longer turn on properly and gave me one long beep (fan goes on, maintains power but no display etc, seems to fail post).

i tried a bunch of stuff like reseating ram etc and tried to reflash from usb but since nothing worked i eventually just...

Crelander DS16 Dual screen BIOS Update failed recovery with CH341A
                  by michelhadid
Hey guys. Michel here. I´m trying to recover a Crelander DS16 Laptop (i7 10750h dual screen laptop, ZENBOOK DUO Clone).

Laptop lost power and failed a BIOS Flash mid flash with AFUWIN/DOS. I of course made a backup beforehand, however, i can´t flash with AFUWIN/DOS now since it doesn´t boot/post anymore (black screen, fans on). I´ve read the BIOS chip (W25Q80DVSIG) with a CH341A Programmer, but AFUWIN Bios backup is 12MBytes and the CH341 read is a 1Mbyte file. I have compared both files and tried changing some data around with a hex editor (used WinOls to compare and edit) but...
