    Help identifying component Wanscam Cam

    Hi powered with 12v and should be 5v smoked and this 3 leg component is shorted then removed and short is gonne but need help to replace alternative (to G8 ss6)

    more damage seen at: audio procesor chip sgm4890 removed too.

      I suspect that it's a voltage detector or PSU supervisor.

      G8 (or G8-) is a RT9808-42CX detector in an SOT-89 package, but RT9808 also comes in an SOT-23 package.

      I suspect that you have a 4.2V RT9808-42CV detector.

                  Asus UX7602Z Liquid Damage - schematics or help with components identifying required

                  Hi, I received a Liquid Damaged Asus UX7602Z for repair. I've cleaned the motherboard and found couple of damaged components. Two of them (near the battery connector) I can't identify. One is a resistor of unknow value, and the other one is probably a transistor. Laptop won't charge the battery without them. Please see the pictures and help with components identifying. I couldn't find any schematics or boardview for this laptop.

                  I've gotten my hands on a few laptops with various defects because I want to get more involved in repairing electronics.

                  Original Issue
                  The device suffered liquid damage, causing a short circuit on the logic board.
                  Near the audio jack area, the CR852 capacitor pad was severely burned, creating a clear short-circuit path. The board could not power on properly.

                  Work Performed
                  Removed the short circuit by drilling through the board (bypassing the short path) in the CR852 area.

                  Hi,

                  I have a Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15IAU7 that suffered water damage. It doesn't turn on (white power light flashes when on button pressed), and the amber light flashes when plugged in.

                  Symptoms:
                  • Short detected – sparks appear when touching the charging port connection with board with a metal (even a multimeter probe).
                  • Visible damage – after cleaning corrosion, I found 4 possibly burnt memory chips near PC3165, labeled UD5, UD6, UD7, and UD8.

                  What are my next steps to diagnose and possibly repair it without replacing the entire board? Any guidance would be greatly...
