I've looked for the logo, but can't find out who the manufacturer is of this voltage regulator. Help finding the data sheet or the manufacturer?

ST made the KD1084 a 5A low drop voltage regulator, available in DPAK and D2PAK package also.
There are fixed versions for 1.8, 2.5, 3.3 and 5V output voltage.

Is that the same as Linear Technology's LT1084? The "0849" is the datecode, and STMicro's date & lot code system is not as simple as what is on that part (you need the "decoder ring" from STMicro to decypher their date/lot code info).PeteS in CA
