    Sanyou Relay Alternative

    Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can help with finding me an alternative to this: Sanyou SJ-S-112LM

Here is a pic of the part.

I belive it discontinued and unfortunatly I'm not confident enought to source a replacment.

Doesn't need the pins to be in the same place because I can hotglue it somwhere and run the wires.

    Any suggestions will be helpfull.

    Thanks!

It's probably a pretty standard me-too part. I'd suggest getting the datasheet, finding the critical parameters - dimensions, PC layout, coil voltage, function (e.g. SPST) - and finding a match from Tyco (who I think bought Schrack and Siemens relays, among others IIRC). Definitely get a safety agency approved part (the original has UL and VDE, but any European agency - Semko, SEV, Nemko, etc. - should suffice).

Power Supplies should be boring: No loud noises, no bright flashes, and no bad smells.

Getting one with the same package (pinout) might be a bit difficult. However getting a relay with the same or similar specs should be easy. You are looking for a relay which is good for 5A at 250VAC or 5A at 28VDC, has at least a single pole (probably normally open) and the coil is rated for 12VDC. There should be an abundance of relays you can get with those specs.

What is the relay being used for? How much are you willing to pay?

Sanyou doesn't sound like a reputable brand. I would prefer to stick to a reputable brand. You can get relays from places like Element14 (Farnell), RS Components etc. However they are likely to be way over priced. Almost all electronics stores should have a suitable relay and much cheaper. When I was looking for relays, I managed to get a bunch really cheap from eBay. They are Telemecanique branded, however several years ago Telemecanique got bought out by Schneider Electric and they are slowly phasing out the Telemecanique brand name. These relays were old stock with the old branding.

Any of these should satisfy your needs. They do differ slightly from the specs of the original. However it is very unlikely to cause an issue.

According to the datasheet budm supplied, the last relay would be my choice. This is because the broken one has a 12V coil rating, and so does the last one you linked in your post. Just pointing it out

Actually all of the ones I linked have a coil voltage rating of 12VDC. They are also all of the same form factor as the original (so hopefully just plug in the replacement) and they all have the same or better switching capabilities. The last one is the best option as it matches all the specs of the original Sanyou relay including the power dissipation (and hence the coil resistance is also equal). However it is not available at RS Components at this stage (on back order). The other relays I linked require a bit more power to activate...however it is barely higher (450mW compared to 200mW) and as such there is a very good chance that the original equipment will still be able to drive the relay.

Anyone know of an alternative for a R10E2662-2 DPDT relay
                by Crystaleyes
I'm having trouble finding an R10 E2662-2 telephone relay, originally made by Potter & Brumfield, and have also been unable to find a suitable replacement.

It is missing from a Fluke 8600A bench multimeter

It isn't really mentioned in the manual, yet judging by others in the series, it appears to have a 4.5v coil, but I could be wrong...

I can find the later R10 E1Y2 relay, however it has a 12v coil

Enclosing pictures of the socket and relay pin assembly

                Here is the service manual;

                Repair Success! Middle Atlantic UPS2200R-IP
                by valvashon
Yesterday I successfully repaired a Middle Atlantic UPS2200R-IP that had inadvertently been used as a surge suppressor at our transmitter site. It has already been replaced with an updated one but it's coming home with me now instead of being e-cycled. To be specific, this is the MA model that has the blue backlit display and has been discontinued, although this design may have been used in many UPS units including the smaller Middle Atlantic ones in this series.

Here's what happened: We experienced a brownout/surge at the site, which damaged the UPS and took our broadcasting...

Garage door RX unit (Cardin S38C) does not short relay to send opening signal
                by CoinCoin88
                Hello everyone,

I'm turning to the Badcaps community to help me troubleshoot the radio Rx card from my (old) garage door opener. While I could just ditch that card and replace the whole system, I first would like to understand "why" it suddenly stopped working, because that's just how I am wired...!

Some basics: the receiver works on a 30.875 Mhz frequency. Yes, I'm aware this is not in use anymore in a looot of places. It does not use any rolling code, it's just a regular dip-switch code that you have to set up on both the receiver and transmitter. The receiver...

Burco BCPLSAFWM5L 5 Litre Wall Mounted Automatic Water Boiler With Filtration UK 240v

Does anybody have any experience with these Burco units at all there is no record of them on the forum lol and a proper service manual would be nice. I invite you all to pesuade me not to botch repair it with a 5v relay, read on.

This unit was rescued from a skip 3 years ago, the only fault it had then was no backight display (plus it wanted a new probe set and top seal) but the screen was never an issue you can still see the screen as is and I just use it to get 5 Litres of very hot...

Help making a switch work the opposite way with a relay
                by SluggerB
I have a very small float switch, I'm using in a very small tank. It only fits in one way. Link https://www.amazon.com/uxcell-Switch.../dp/B07DZ1J2GB

I want the switch to be open when the water is high, and closed when the water is low. Unfortunately it works the opposite. And since this switch is designed to be underwater, it's all sealed up, there is no taking it apart or hacking it up.

It will be driving a water pump, basic idea, when the water is low, switch closes, which turns on water pump, when enough water is in the tank, float switch floats,...
