    Replace capacitor...

    Hello,
Ik am a newbie in this but i want to try this: I have a 3A 12V psu from a lcd and it has a bad 400V 47uF cap. I don't have 400V 47uF caps but i do have 2 200V 300uF caps from a chinese pc psu. Can i replace that bad cap with 2 200V 300uF caps so i have 400V 300uF? Or is it bad to replace a 47uF cap with a 300uF cap?

No, you would need a single 400V capacitor. You could increase the capacitance a little though if you wanted.

OK, thanks for your answer. The only option is buying a new cap then...

You should check but I believe that to get 2 caps to = 400v in a DC circuit you have to connect them in series. 2 300uf caps connected in series would have a total uf of 150uf.
