Hate to say it but Mr Z has the exact answer for you.
Radio Shack has nothing like it.
Ran into a similar problem some time back on a clients 2M ham radio.
The OEM used a 17 volt edition on the DC input to the set.
After a few years of car starter surges, the part shorted and took out the fuse. Yeah I could have 'done without it' but some day an expensive power control IC would have died, and it would have been my failing.
Call it a quirk but I hate to mess up like that.
For three bucks and a couple of day delay you can get ten of them.
Real cheap insurance for the real world.
The only proper fix is to replace with exact.
On the link he gave you there is a good data sheet.
Read up on these things, most interesting parts.
Very often the only choice in life is to pay the freight and get the right thing.
Mr Beertap had a similar issue with one on a PSU used in the game industry.
