Film capacitor for a DC motor

Hi guys:

Could somebody help me to identify the capacitor marked as AV.1K400 in the attached picture, it's for a 24 V DC of a gate opener.

I'd like to have the manufacturer so I can find an equivalent for any other manufacturer.

I guess AKA is for Also Known As, have any idea what manufacturer the AV logo is?

Why do you think it's the caps that are the trouble? Those are noise suppression caps that keep the induced spikes off the DC supply line and reduce the arcing on the commutator-brush connection as the motor spins.

What make & model motor is it and the same question for the gate.

Hi Toast:

I suppose one cap is damaged because it's blowed on the top (no the ones in th picture I attached), but I didn't test the capacitance because didn't know what was it.

The brand of the motor is NICE mady in Italy, model MOBY4024.

just dont by any clear ones made by RIFA.
they crack when they get old and moisture gets in - BANG!!
