    DMM leads with clips?

Anyone know what the leads with tiny clip things on the end allowing to clamp on to components legs and other fine things are called?

It's a pain and dangerous trying to probe stuff on a live board using standard leads. I shorted a filter cap a few weeks ago with the power on which scared the crap out of me and don't want to be anywhere live parts if I don't have to.

Franky, over at eevblog, is a honest seller. He has an ebay store and sells

I have purchased from Franky before and stuff comes from Hong Kong and usually arrives in 2 weeks. I get no kickbacks or discounts from Franky.

    Other variations

    Other name brands include Ponoma.

Yep, I use the above or similar when probing anything on the live side. I also use a reputable multimeter on the live side in case I make an oops.

If you are new to this forum, we can help a lot more if you please post clear focused pictures (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) of your boards using the manage attachments button so they are hosted here. Information and picture clarity compositions should look like this post.

We respectfully ask that you make some time and effort to read some of the guides available for basic troubleshooting. After you have read through them, then ask clarification questions or report your findings.

Please do not post inline and offsite as they slow down the loading of pages.

I use probes with a fine tip and then put heatshrink over the probe so just the end is showing.

Making a Handskit hot air station a bit less stupid
          by spleenharvester
I bought one of these as it was the only one I could find that is compact enough to fit in my toolbox (though I've since found KSGER make a substantially safer looking one). It's one of those fan-in-handle things that has the 230V element in the handle. Quecoo briefly sold a similar unit but discontinued it.. maybe they couldn't find solutions to these problems. I'm aware these fan-in-handle things are garbage compared to a good air pump station but I only really use this for occasional QFN work etc.

I did not realise at the time of buying that its design is... interesting, to say...

          Socomec ITY2-TW100B ITYS 10KvA UPS
          by LemoneyF
Blokes Im not even sure where to start looking.

I have a broken Socomec 10KvA online single phase UPS, specifically an ITY2-TW100B.

Does anyone have any experience with these? 6KvA ITYS units also share a mainboard, I believe.

There is an issue with the bypass circuit on the mainboard- out of ten intial error codes Im down to one (yay aliexpress components), but after four months im ready to give up. 140kg boat anchor.

I need to find a complete mainboard.

Socomec have stonewalled me and wont give me any schematics. The manual has...

          Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74 power issue
          by GLISIT
          Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Samsung un82ru88000f - Boot loop sort of but can correct with taping of LVDS ribbon
          by NolesFan
Hello all... TV started boot looping. Opened the back panel and tried to isolate the problem. Just PSB no boot loop. PSB and MB no boot loop. Plug in the LVDS from panel to MB and boot looping starts up. It doesnt matter of order that I plug the LVDS ribbons back in, only 1 and no boot loop but as soon as 2nd one plugs in boot looping. I then noticed a flicker on the screen when I was closing the clip on the harness to the LVDS. Shut the lights off so I can see better, and I noticed as i slowly close it, I will get a picture, but as soon as it clips in, I lose picture and booting happens. So I...

          JBL live 650BTNC Schematics/ Datasheet/ Repair Help
          by Arfizato
Hello everyone, I'm looking for schematics or datasheet for my JBL live 650BTNC headphones so that maybe me and my friend could stop flying blind trying to fix it. Here's a youtube video of the same headphones if you need any specific model number or better idea about the product.
Situation(if interested to help me troubleshoot):
my headphones were water-damaged due to heavy rain. at first, it stopped working but then after the hair dryer treatment, it came back to working with little finicky Bluetooth behavior which eventually went back to normal.
          Then when I charged it...
