    Re: CH341a - Questions

Just cut wires and I will solder it after a while. I also think that I discovered another problem. The LED on the power place seems to be missing like there is a visible difference between the Power and Run LED. I think that's the problem. like it got damaged or it was the production error not sure.
now I can't even return it lol 😅.

I didn't solder these wires. i just burned a little bit of the wire so the metal part is exposed. now, as soon as i get a soldering iron i will solder them onto the gold pads.

Maybe before that you should practice a little bit on some irrelevant PCB...
          Just saying...

You aren't missing any parts from your pcb.
As stated by another member here you will have to remove the flash ic from the board and read the data from it (without anything else attached to it).
Then get the data from (the data dump) of the flash ic with the password removed. Then reprogram the flash ic with the corrected data.
Then resolder the flash ic onto the laptop board and try.
Any other option will not work
Though I suspect you may not be capable of doing so considering you don't have a soldering iron or I guess a hot air station for removing the flash ic. Though you could use chip quik low melting solder to remove the flash ic.
If your not sure of any terminology I have used I suggest using google and youtube to teach yourself.

[Question] Ch341a and 5v to 3.3v with logic converter
              by md500
zz0.8tpitu4y0i8zzI bought a ch341a (I'm waiting for it to arrive) and I noticed that the programmer has a bug that the data pins go to 5v when the VCC pin is at 3.3v (which is the voltage I'm looking for).

Instead of doing the 3.3v mod, I'm thinking of converting the 5v to 3.3v with an 8 channel TXS0108E through the ZIF socket but I don't know if that would work, because it has to circulate voltage and also information.

What I am looking for is something that will convert from 5v to 3.3v but without modifying the ch341a.

              I can't buy the ch341a 1.6v that has...

Dell Optiplex 5050 SFF - strange behavior and service_mode jumper not working anymore
              by MMH3
              Hello,

i have many 5050sff. all of them, and how i experienced over many years for all about 250 DELLs goin through my hands, are fully flashable and can be serviced in any way when the service_mode jumper is set.
Never ever i experienced problems with that.

Now i have one 5050sff machine, where this jumper isnt working at all.
I do not get the normal messge that the jumper is set when booting and a short test with FPT just confirms this. Everything is locked -->> EVEN for reading !?

The history of the machine is that i used it in my office...

Hello everyone, I am looking for help to make sure I am on the right track to remove lost BIOS Admin password on an HP EliteDesk G6 800 SFF. I recently purchased this on ebay and the seller is willing to accept a return but I have already installed my new HDs, NVME, and setup proxmox so I would like to keep it.

HP EliteDesk 805 G8 "PSWD" Jumper
              by blankdisplay
              Hello,

Apologies, I broke a rule and hijacked a thread, so I deleted that post.
I am curious if anyone here owns the G8 or has good quality board shots?

I've done some googling and curious if the 805 G8 series has some kind of jumper?!

The 800, G3 series, much older, the maintenance and service guide, clearly talks about a PSWD jumper

I also believe it's just visible in this shot:
