    Edsyn tip on soldering tip

I was wondering about this info on http://www.edsyn.eu speaking about when to change a soldering tip. I hardly ever changed it and was wondering how to recognise when we need to replace them.

    Cheers,

I experienced this myself with the Hakko rework station at work. The tip had actually expanded at the part where it slides over the ceramic heating element, causing it to heat poorly. In fact it expanded so much, I had to use a hammer to get it out of the retaining collar so I could change the tip. It worked 100 times better afterwards of course
