Ordered this from china. Should have been a Fluke 87 can anyone confirm how to see if this is even a genuine Fluke?
Is this a fake Fluke?

Re: Is this a fake Fluke?
That for sure is no Fluke 87. It has an old vintage AVO analog meter. It looks like a REAL authentic AVO.
Lots of UK folks love them over at

PS. I have never seen a counterfeit Fluke or know of any (so far). The 15B and 17B are made for the Chinese market.Last edited by retiredcaps; 03-15-2012, 07:15 AM.--- begin sig file ---

Re: Is this a fake Fluke?
This is the closest I have seen recently to a "fake" Fluke 87V. Ebay auctions are asking $100 USD for this multimeter. I'll take a 20 year used Fluke 83, 85, or 87 (first generation) anyday for $100 versus the VC87.

Funny, the upper right shows APO which stands for Auto Power Off (the industry standard acroynm). Look at what the etching on the body says.
BTW, the VC87 is the Vichy VC99 with the added automotive feature and True RMS. The Vichy 99 got slammed by Dave Jones in the $50 shootout.--- begin sig file ---

Re: Is this a fake Fluke?
I forgot to point out if "*LIGIT > 2 sec" means the backlight comes on after holding the button down for 2 seconds, then someone at Vici needs a spellchecker.
Yes, I know there is a blue button to toggle between AC and DC, but what moron decided to use a squiggle and solid line together as a symbol for the V setting? It sure confuses the heck out of your international audience.--- begin sig file ---

by KhojaHello experts,
I recently purchased a used Fluke 123 Industrial Scopemeter from an online Japanese auction site (jauce.com). It has now been delivered. Unfortunately, I overlooked the fact that the seller neither guarantees its working condition nor accepts returns.
When I power it on, the backlight comes on, but there is no image on the screen. After opening the device, I noticed clear signs of previous soldering in several areas (photos attached). It seems someone attempted repairs before.
At this point, I'll have to try and fix it myself. Has anyone here... -
by H HHello,
I'm hoping someone could help me confirm if I have identified the following parts correctly.
Apparently the DP cable became stuck inside the graphics card and was yanked out. This caused some sort of short which burned the DP contacts and blew some resistors and ferrite beads.
The parts needing replacement are on the back of the board behind the HDMI input.
I have identified the parts as the following:
C6037: MLCC 0.1uf/16v(0402)x7R W05
R6016: RES 499 OHM 1/16W (0402) 1%

by BaldbentleyI am repairing a Fluke 335 clamp meter. After contacting fluke it appears there is no service manual or circuit board/ component list available. I have determined that there us a faulty PNP bipolar junction transistors shown in the pictures. I am having trouble sourcing this transistor. I pulled a good one off of the board and tested it with my component analyzer but I cannot find anything that matches the specifications. Any help locating this part or a replacement would be greatly appreciated.
