    The battery was being used as a readily available simulator for a high energy cap.
    What happens 'after that' doesn't happen (significantly) in caps and is completely irrelevant to the simulation.

    And no.
    If you put a spanner across battery terminals it won't be full volts across the spanner.
    Not sure where that even came from.
    Volts will be near zero faster than the response time of most meters.

        Wson8 spring pin probe WORKS

        I couldn't find anywhere on the internet where someone had discussed actually using one of these newer wson8 probes for flashing your Wson8 BIOS chip without removing it from the MB.
        I recently ordered one to give it a shot and it actually worked quite well.

        The tricky part is obviously keeping the probe pins in place on the exposed Wson8 pads of the MB while reading/writing.
        I used a larger binder clip attached to the top of the probe to create a large flat surface, then added about 1lb of weight to it.
        This aided greatly in allowing the probe to stay in place...

        I tried to use this method:

        Testing an N-channel MOSFET:

        Step 1: Discharge the Gate (turn off the MOSFET)
        Place the black probe (COM) on the Source (S) and the red probe on the Drain (D). The multimeter should show no continuity (high resistance or "OL" – open line).
        Then, touch the black probe to the Source (S) and the red probe to the Gate (G). This discharges any stored charge in the Gate, turning the MOSFET off.

        Step 2: Charge the Gate (turn on the MOSFET)
        Now, place the red probe on the Gate (G) and the black probe on the        ...

        Might have some liquid damage (from > 1 year ago, was completely fine until a month ago) - unable to notice anything wrong easily on the motherboard (Core i7, GPU MX250, UX481FLY). I have cleaned parts of the motherboard with some oxidation with solder and flux - did not help.
        Laptop does turn on sometimes and is fully functional. However, while it is fully functional - (1) If rebooted, most of the times it enters a restart loop with blank screen (2) Sometimes, it crashes by itself and enters restart loop - with no relation to CPU/GPU load, heat, etc.

        Tiny Tech ATX480W output power ticking

        Hi to all forum members,

        ​​​​​​This psu (Tiny Tech model ATX 480W) had been installed in a very old Windows XP PC but recently i pulled it out as the pc cannot start. To test it, i jumped the green wire and black wire on the 24 pin connector. The psu fan jerk a bit but not spinning. I used my dmm to check dc voltage on output connector wire, the 5v red wire keeps ticking a bit at around dc1v....then drops and ticking again around 1v. It is the same situation with the 12v yellow wire.

        Fyi, i desoldered the secondary side electrolytic cap those over 1000uf...

        Sony KD-60X6700E not turning on

        Hi all,

        I have a Sony Bravia KD-60X6700E which has decided to stop working. To describe the symptoms - it just decided to stop powering on one morning. No standby LED, no sounds, no picture, no startup logo - nothing. Doesn't respond to the remote nor the physical power button on the unit.

        I have tested the power cable for continuity. I have also tested the fuse, and that too, has continuity. However I haven't gotten much further with the probing. I've prodded the secondary side of the power supply where the connector connects to the main board, and there's no voltage...
