    Mainboard issue. Possibly firmware.

Ignore the firmware, you have bad soldering at main boards, many people face this and they solved with Bake The Board

on of them who succeed here his article http://zedic.com/lg-42dl550-fix-repair/

My Dear friend Diah: Ignore the oven bake,Try to use a paint stripper much better.

I got this tip from ReeceyBurger123
Common issue on these boards is bga solder failing on the main processor which is under the heatsink, you could try reflowing it to see if it sorts the issue.....

        Real working case:
        https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...6&postcount=47

        I checked, they used the same LGE3549 LGE3549X L6E3549XS LGE3S49XS LGE3549X5 LGE3549XS BGA IC Chip for mircoprocessor (IC501).

[Tech Tips] First do reflowing if not work then reballing. This LG BGA processor has server heat dissipation problem, even they do use metal casing.

In this case, a paint stripper is batter than the oven, because we knew the location of the problem at.

But don't get me wrong...you need two paint strippers ( one on top and other-one at bottom), two PID controllers, two K sensors ,and old Compaq case.

I am embarrassed to show my dirty pictures of 6 years old home-made BGA rework
station. It work like a champ. With this baby, you can enjoy a coffee then came back.

Try to update to this one

Ok, so you guys suggest, reballing or reflowing the main processor ?
I saw the chip on the left hand is misalign and the position from the top is not flushl ? ...
Is it because of over heat ? The chip code : XD Engine LGE 7378 LF,

              I'll try reballing it....and we'll see

Reflowing is temporary repair mainly for customer, for whom might come back later, and reballing is for permanently repair.

Oh My Sweet Lord! you're fast. not this one, is the one in the center with heat sink(picture of post #4) and metal-casing, call main video processor.
The one you've took out is lvds to VGA digital signal processor.

I wish your BGA rework-station has optical alignment system.

harbor freight 1500 Watt Dual Temperature Heat Gun. (on sale for $7.xx)
                      http://www.harborfreight.com/1500-wa...112-96289.html

Two fans inside the Heat Gun are dc 12v . So, I use ATX power supply 3.3v ,5v,12v for fan speed contral (high, mid, low control). (I should use variable power supply). Cost under $50.00. It becomes one of the most useful tool for me. Two PID controllers do most work of it.
Try to use 90 degree prisms from DLP TV or iphone dual cameras to make an optical alignment system, never have time to get it.

You don't need to put it back which you've taken out is LVDS processor , tv will work without it.(you will get white screen and can power on and off)

Put some flux on edge of the main processor, then reflow it.
I've done it about a week ago by reflow only and work perfectly.

I was inspired by him, before I did a lot of HP laptop VGA reflowing, never ever think can be do on TV.

O ..My bad... we need to get the freeze logo back then fix the original problem.

In my case, I have no picture on the TV but test pattern was passed. reflowed it then works.
