May be Capsun or Samwha. But i haven`t seen the exact logo there.

                Re: Help identifying these caps?

Time will tell us, but i would not expect a fully blown quality control and stringent raw material testing as may be from the well known & more expensive big players in the field.

On the other hand, i think they may have learned their lesson and take the opportunity to improve their overall production habits.
Any way, it think they should at least outlast any electrolytic cap and thus are probably perfectly fine for SOHO IT equipment.

But on a expensive, high end board, i would want to have something better, e.g. Oscon.

                  Re: Help identifying these caps?

It looks like almost all major players, ASUS, Gigabyte, ABIT etc have moved to Fujitsu over Sanyo OSCON. Almost every single new LGA775 P35/X38 board out there comes with these caps. But, the Xeon boards are still OSCON.

                      Re: Help identifying these caps?

on some old asus boards i have seen them fail.like a7 series.
but not on more recent stuff.
time will tell as i am stuffing them in every board i own to test.

                        Re: Help identifying these caps?

From the logo printed on the case, it's Ost's polymer cap.

Holy hell...what is the world coming to????????...I hope for ASUS's sake those don't go the OST 'lytic way. I'd be pissed to spend about $300 on a "Premium" MB only to find it populated by OST's. (It is an ASUS Maximus Formula BTW).

if this is your mobo you are now the official badcaps.net ost polymer guinea pig.
we will be expecting a full report ;-)

Interesting info Super Nade, I've also bought a Asus Maximus Formula Super Hockey GT3 Plus Pro Deluxe with extra cheese and blue LED's

Will be interesting to see how it likes being watercooled=fucking hot VRM section due to poor air flow in the case...

No way guys, it is not my board. I have the poor cousin P5K with Fujitsus on 'em. I really pity the bloke whose OST Polymers go kaputt! I'll be keeping an eye out for any failures.

However, is everybody 100% sure that these are OST?????

Certainly not, but if they would be from a good brand, i think there would be more than one reply.
And meimei_liu seems to be confident on this part.

I think if they aren`t Ost it probably could only be worser. We have had a topic here, where a Asian government paid research project was mentioned, to enable their cap manufacturer to supply the next generation cheapi polymer caps.
Theoretically, anyone of those people could probably start a polymer capacitor production.

May be the logo was derived from the Capsun logo, which is very similar.

I say nay to OST. I searched through their products for a narrow logo and found a Quartz Crystal. OST's narrow logo is a T on an O.

I have a circle logo that could just as easily be OST and mine have brown goo . The two caps in the center are Rubycon 3300uf 6.3v HM.
