    GeForce 6800GT recap, need help identifying caps and finding replacements

    Hi,

    I just noticed that my Asus V9999GT (GeForce 6800 GT) had some swelling capacitors. I managed to identify the brown ones, which are Nippon Chemi-Con KZG series, 6.3V 820µF, which I plan to replace with this.
    But for the yellow ones, I guess these are Fujitsu caps, without being able to identify which series... A picture of the video card is attached to the topic.

    I need to replace:
    • 2x 2.5V 1500µF => I plan to use this
    • 2x 16V 330µF=> I plan to use this
    • 1x 6.3V 680µF=> I plan to use this
    Am I correct with the cap choices?

    Thanks for your help.

    polymers are a good choice - make sure the diameters are the same or the lead pitch wont match

      Hi, thanks for your reply. Diameters are identical, I'm just worried about differences in ESR values, and I'm unable to find the ESR values on the caps. I only found that the KZG are low ESR, without any additional information.

        on gpu's low esr is essential because of the frequencies they run the psu section at.

          So the caps I mentioned should be correct?

            They look fine but there is probably no point in replacing those Fujitsu caps: they are good quality...
            And when replacing the UCC KZG caps I would go for a same-same replacement (same capacitance).

              Alright, I will order this reference then. Thank you Per Hansson. The Fujitsu are not swelling so I won't replace these ones.

                MSI 815M Pro V5.1 (MS-6315) Recap
                by Pauln
                I have a MSI 815M Pro V5.1 (MS-6315) that I would like to recap due to 8 bulging caps (can post a picture if needed) It's an old Piii board.
                I have done the odd cap swap from another board but never a full recap.
                ATM board is working but only tested to BIOS.

                Caps I intend to replace but I am a little unsure if I have picked correctly ( I have tried searching and looking at ripple and ESR but I am a little lost )

                ASUS P5GC-MX motherboard recap
                by momaka
                Here’s another motherboard that needed a full recap: an ASUS P5GC-MX.
                This one was gifted to me some years ago by user Pentium 4, along with a few other goodies. It actually came in working order with no bulging or leaking caps. However, I noted there were United Chemicon KZG caps everywhere on the motherboard. The CPU VRM output (CPU V_core) was the only exception: it had only 2x KZG. The rest was 6x UCC TMV 4V 680 uF caps… which aren’t any good news either.

                So here is what the motherboard looked like with its original caps:

                QSC GX5 Cap replacements and maybe more
                by fuzzyrunner
                Trying to fix a QSC GX5 amplifier. One channel wasn't working at all and the other channel would work but with a lot of crackling/noise. I opened up the amplifier and found the 4 large capacitors (Nover LS 63v 12000uf Hi-Ripple) all bulging/leaking. Can anyone give me some good recommendations for replacements? I haven't done any other testing on the board yet but figured I'd get these ordered since I know they need to be replaced. Pics posted of board and caps. Thanks!...

                DFI Lanparty NF4 Ultra-D recap help
                by laskr1999
                Hello!
                I have got multiple DFI Lanparty NF4 Ultra-D motherboards, that I would like to recap for longevity. Can someone please help to find alternatives, with quality caps(I see some noname on it, so I would like to get from quality brands)
                As far as I see, I have 69 caps that are on the mobo. This mobo for example had very little usage, so the caps are not yet gassed out like on the other ones. I would like to go with poly where its possible, and keep the same size where I can only put normal ones.
                I attach both with and without marked caps pics to see it better.
