You should get a new signature and call u the tab master.

I am thinking I have the same tab bonding problem with my Samsung. I wanted the problem to be an easy fix and have ordered a TCON, POWER SUPPLY BOARD, and the board with all the video inputs, but I doubt those are to blame after seeing many of the scenarios posted on various sites. Where is the best walk through on doing the TAB REPAIR ?

I find your repair to be ok ,but i have also found this will not last as the material you used will eventually release the pressure on the tab
I have used much harder material eg silicon tubing or tape that does not loose the tension over time .anyway good luck in repairing these tvs

I just bought a kit with multiple thicknesses 0.5mm up to 3mm, as I use the stuff for other things too.

Good for you budm I do my bonds standing up also , better to work on.. I have a kdl-46xbr5 almost two years and still working good..

Thanks bud, I guess the most important criteria is to cover the gap enough to put pressure on the bonds. I'm having a different problem, I have two cof's that are causing artifacts because they are running too hot. I've verified this by giving them a short burst of cold spray. Either the

Either the pad is not effective for this from the front or it simply cannot remove enough heat.

I'm going to try a piece in BEHIND the ribbon and then again from the top to make a COF sandwich, see if that helps.

Yes you can behind the ribbon to transfer the heat from IC to the chassis, but I think the IC will eventually fail, they do run hot.

Yes I think it is too late for this one. I just put a strip behind the ribbon and a couple over it and it definitely is improved but not cured. It's running too hot to be cooled this way.
