Samsung LCD TV LNT4061F X/XAC Vertical Lines

    Hi all,

I have read that this could be multiple problems. I came home from university and saw my TV like this.

I've heard it may be the panel, but from what I've read and hope is that is the TCON Board. I've done a bunch of searches, but I just want to make sure before I dump any more money into it.

    What I've tried so far
    1. On and Off
    2. Updating the Firmware (Which was a pain when I couldn't see half the screen)

I once let it sit for awhile just to see if it would fix it self, and then colours spread across the screen. Like vertical colours almost like a rainbow. I had a picture on my old phone, but I'm not sure if I lost the pictures. I will have to check when I get home.

Cheers, Seems like a helpful community.

Oh and If i't turns out that it is the panel, would it be worth disassembling it and then parting it out?

    Thanks again,

    Eric

The vertical bar indicates the tab bond IC burnt and is not fixable.

I had a similar problem but my bar defaulted to grey it was most definitely repairable. Tab bond - mine was getting too hot and blowing air across it alleviated the symptoms.

Worth a shot I would say. I will try to find the thread by budm that I used as a guide.

              Screen Display Vertical Multicolor Lines
              by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

              Samsung UN46C8000XFXZA vertical bars/horizontal lines
              by x_orange90_x
I posted about this previously but didn't get any response, and I have some troubleshooted a bit so I have more info.

The screen is full of horizontal "gaps" or lines that distort the picture badly, and after about 10 seconds of powering it on the screen starts to fill with red vertical bars that take on the horizontal pattern. After the screen filled with the red bars, they instantly vanished and then slowly started to reappear. I initially thought it was tab bonding failure, but after getting down to them and pressing each one I find zero change in the picture. I went...

Thin stable coloured vertical lines on Samsung UN65NU6900FXZC come and go
              by polaro
              Greetings,

I've bought a used Samsung UN65NU6900FXZC LED TV. It worked fine for some time and then developed, at first, a single very thin (1 pixel) vertical stable blue line, from top to bottom, close to the left edge of the screen. Now it's 3 lines on the left. When I connect HDMI sources the number of the thin lines grow. After disconnecting and cold discharging I am back to 2 lines. The lines disappear at a rate of 15-20 minutes per line. So it does not look like a damaged LED panel. Any advice? Thanks...

Samsung 55" UN55JS9000 - Pink vertical lines due to chipped LCD panel?
              by Anonmis
Hello all, I was recently repairing my Samsung 55" UN55JS9000 tv from the common burnt backlight LED's and cracked light guide panel issue. After replacing the LED's and putting the TV back together, I tested the tv and all I was getting was sound but no image. Somewhere along the way (could be related to the next issue) the T-Con board became damaged and after replacing it I have made a little bit of progress but now have bright pink vertical lines and still no image.

The bigger issue .... I took the TV apart again and realized that I likely didn't sit the LCD panel correctly...
