Vizio E65-F0 Backlight On, No Picture

Have this TV with no picture. When I first got it the same symptom. Backlight on but no picture. I check the tcon fuse and it was bad. So I ordered new tcon and mainboard packaged together.

I replaced the tcon and mainboard and still have the same symptom but the fuse on the tcon did not blow.

I tried unplugging one side at a time of the lvds cables and still get no picture. Not even half white screen. Just black screen with backlights on.

Anyone have any suggestions or run into this problem on this model?

Also I found this eeprom chip on the panel buffer board. Never seen this before. Maybe it's bad/ corrupt?

I would be checking t-con voltages. Maybe panel dragging down a voltage.
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

Re: Vizio E65-F0 Backlight On, No Picture

Did some more digging around and found a few shorted caps I believe.

It's a group of them coming off that eeprom I mentioned on the buffer boards.

I removed 1 fro circuit and it was shorted. However the group of caps still all test short also.

Not sure how to find which one is bad or if it's the eeprom except for removing each 1 by 1.

Your photo is blurry but they look black not cap colour suggesting they are inductors and so will read as short.

I think you are correct. It's getting harder to see these small things. Guess I'm getting old.

Have you checked the PS board? What are its voltages?
Where did you get the mainboard and tcon?
Have you had time to check t-con voltages?

VIZIO E70-E3 Half picture with half TCON
                      by Fly_Among_Stars
                      Hi,
                      I have a VIZIO E70-E3.
Symptoms: Black screen, no picture, but LED backlights are working.
I probed the power board and voltages are as listed on the board.
                      Main board appears fine, too.
I believe the problem is either a bad T-CON board, or connection to LCD, or bad LCD.
There are two separate ribbon cables feeding the LCD.
If both are connected, the screen is black.

If only the ribbon cable that feeds the right side of the screen (when viewed from the front) is disconnected, the left side of the screen shows picture and...

this tv is throwing me for a loop. do samsung tvs no longer have the backlight self test feature built into the power supply?
i tested the backlight with my LED tester and it lights up both strips. one of them reads 100v and the other reads 63.7v.
unplugged mainboard from power supply but left backlight plugged in, and then plugged psu wall power in. expected to see backlights light up but see nothing.
according to how ive diagnosed in the past, this would almost always be a bad power supply. replacement power supply was cheap like 20$ from ebay. but still i get not even...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
                      by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                      Assuming...

Samsung TV model UE50TU: rebooting, backlight, sound, but no picture
                      by TR103
                      Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
                      - sound and backlight, but no picture
                      - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
                      - it keeps rebooting
                      - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
                      - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
                      - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

                      - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered...

Samsung LCD TV no picture backlight on no 12v at tcon
                      by shelby5041
                      hi
i have a samsung lcd tv

it powers on with sound and backlight but no picture

all voltages from PS are good 12v 3.3v and 5v

whats odd is that at the tcon i tested voltage across the fuse on the tcon and i get 0v

i figured main board issue..so i ordered a used main board....when i put replacement main board in i still have same issue

no 12v at the tcon fuse

i disconnect the panel ribbon cables to rule out any panel issues and i still have no 12v at the tcon fuse

                      the odds of having 2...
