Bios read help fot HP 830 G5

    Hello,
    I would need help for reading a bios on 830 G5 .

No desire to retire the chip and I tested with wires on TL866II

    but I can’t read it . this is a MX25L25673G

It’s not recognized by the programmer.
Chip id not correct and Full FFFF in read .

I took the advice here with the charger but no better.

I don't think 256Mb chips are supported by that programmer.

I used raspberry pi + latest flashrom for that size.

The MX25L25673G is in the support list. I have the older tl866cs ,i get errors like that when a chip isn`t seated properly in the adapter or zif socket.

Ok, this is the clip that falsely reads, I solder directly

This is why, you must always control its reading.
I really don't like the eprom clamp

What sort of clip do you have,a cheap one or a pomona. Its always more reliable desoldering the bios

the chip was soldered directly to a programmer support, I no longer use the clamp
