Sansui 55" LCD TV Model STY955 Backlight or PSU???

    Hi Guys,
This tv came in with a back light that used to switch off intermittently. After measuring around the PWM IC and i can confirm that i made NO SHORT CIRCUIT the LED's went quite dark and stayed like that. They barely shine!!!
This is the readings i have,
    LED+ = 38.6V
    LED+ = 38.6V
    LED+= 38.6V
    LED+= 38.6V
    LED+= 38.6V
    LED+= 38.6V
    LED6- = 1.62V
    LED5- = 1.60V
    LED4- = 1.61V
    LED3- = 1.62V
    LED2- = 1.62V
    LED1- = 1.63V

also the Adjust pin is 5.1V
    and BL-ON = 1.6V

If i use a backlight tester and they all come on, not to say that they are not intermittent but the LED tester indicates a voltage of 41V on all six circuits and there is a blueish light emanating from the rear stand offs. I guess being biased slightly.
Previously before these back lights went from intermittent off to permanently dim i did take off the LCD display and put power to see that all LED's came on nice n bright and then after a few minutes they just faded off. I then started fault finding around the PWM and that's what caused the failure of output voltage.
Just to give you an idea i disconnected one of the LED- leads and put my Fluke meter in series to monitor the current and when i powered up the TV the backlights flashed and went off immediately. As if it did not like the fluke in series and i cant understand why.

My question is, is it the back lights or the power supply?

    1) TV OFF, put meter probe on the the two legs of capxon cap C13 (100uf 100V).
    2) Set meter to 200V scale then turn on the TV while watching the meter to see how high it goes up to then wait 10 seconds to see how low it goes down to.
    3) Report the reading.

Fluke 123 no image on the screen
      by Khoja
      Hello experts,

I recently purchased a used Fluke 123 Industrial Scopemeter from an online Japanese auction site (jauce.com). It has now been delivered. Unfortunately, I overlooked the fact that the seller neither guarantees its working condition nor accepts returns.

When I power it on, the backlight comes on, but there is no image on the screen. After opening the device, I noticed clear signs of previous soldering in several areas (photos attached). It seems someone attempted repairs before.

At this point, I'll have to try and fix it myself. Has anyone here...

Sansui Integrated Amplifier replacement volume control troubles
      by Coert van Dorsten
Hi all you clever electronmic gooroos!

I was wondering if you could help me with the below issues Im having on a Sansui Integrated amplifier. I bought this unit as a project to repair as Im playing around with basic electromics. The unit has a faulty volume control pot. The service maual refers to a 150K Logarithmic pot (A) tapered stereo. Im struggling to find this value. Seem to be a jump from 100K to 250K. Im now trying a 250K pot. It works but the problem is that as the volume is turned up from starting at Min the Left channel will come on first just slightly before the Right...

I have a sansui that just started having a dim picture, adjusting backlight settings up or down have no effect on display. I went ahead and ordered some backlight strips for it but find it weird that changing the setting has no effect. Could it be power related. Where should I start? Thanks Michael ...

repairing a Fluke 335 clamp meter
      by Baldbentley
I am repairing a Fluke 335 clamp meter. After contacting fluke it appears there is no service manual or circuit board/ component list available. I have determined that there us a faulty PNP bipolar junction transistors shown in the pictures. I am having trouble sourcing this transistor. I pulled a good one off of the board and tested it with my component analyzer but I cannot find anything that matches the specifications. Any help locating this part or a replacement would be greatly appreciated.

      Thanks...
