Re: Panasonic Viera 65" 7 blinking lights

Thanks for getting back with me. I decided to troubleshoot this problem on my own for now. I ordered the SC jig just to be sure I am following your instructions correctly. While I wait, are there any tests I can run? Also, I have the original SC (recall I purchased a new one which I installed), are there tests I can run on the board while it is sitting on my workbench?

I also need to buy a new SU board. Do you recommend buying or trying to fix? Buying may be quicker, do you know a reliable place where I can buy one?'

Last question: I have a craftsman multimeter but there are multiple settings. If I'm check voltage, do you know which DC setting I need it on? 600, 200, 20, 2000m, or 200m. I realize this is probably just moving decimal points, but I could use some help here as well as with the ohms settings. Feel free to send me to a help link that explains all of this.

    Thanks,

    John

Re: Panasonic Viera 65" 7 blinking lights

I purchased the SC jumper and isolated the SU/SD boards together following the service manual. I continue to have the 7 blinking lights which suggests that the SC board is bad. Like I mentioned before, I replaced the SC board with one from panasonic and after I installed the TV came to life only with the horizontal bars running across the screen. I turned off and reset the buffer cables. I turned on the unit and got the 7 blinking lights.

Assuming I damaged the SC board, I hoping to find out how to go about resistance testing the transistors. Since I now have two bad SC boards, maybe I can use some working parts for ones that are damaged. Please let me know where you would start and how I can go about it. The transistors are three pronged and I'm unsure where to test and what resistance I should get. Thanks. Always feel free to point me to a resource I can study. Hoping someone can help me out.

Needing help troubleshooting bad transistors. Take the board off, or keep in place and check? Should I check any voltages? Just looking for some help guys.

I'd work with the board out.

The likelihood of making one from two would be very slim I would expect.

You could search tnpa5081 and maybe get some ideas from those rebuilds i did as the S2 is the same generation and the cct designs are very close.
parts used may be same too but straight up q661 is a RJP56F4A where on mine RJP63F3A.

Difference there would be 560V IGBT to a 630V IGBT

I would expect surface mounted components to be failed too, so can you manage to desolder / solder small multipinned items?

Modus was the best option when the sale was on, which is no longer.

Still is the safest way to get this going again.

Something to try to be sure there's no A board issues, disconnect Sc2,SC20,SS11, P35, 3 white ribbons at the A board and see if the TV turns on with no blinks.

Turn off and leave those power cables disconnected for several minutes before you hook them up again so nothing gets spiked.

This will confirm that the A is not causing 7 blink which I would not expect but slim chance it may.

I'm having a similar problem with TC-P50G10. I'd love to get some help.

try using search "TC-P50G10". plenty to read, SC failure is fairly common.

Re: Panasonic Viera 65" 7 blinking lights

In my experience, the SU/SD buffers are what damaged the SC board. Thanks to careful testing before installing my repaired SC board, I was able to indentify the buffer boards as shorted and replaced them both.
Many Thanks to TW2005 and Tom for their assistance!

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock
                    by sam_sam_sam
I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

Panasonic TC-P54VT25 No image. A or D board?
                    by canadaboy25
I have a Panasonic TC-P54VT25 that will power on and prime the display but there is no image at all.

The panel is primed as there is a slight glow from the entire panel. This means the problem should be logic related. The service manual also confirms this and recommends replacing the A or the D board.

I have tried to get the TV to display the test sequence but I have been unable to and I don't even know if this TV has a test sequence or not. I tried following tom66's instructions in post #3 on this thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=26790. There was...

                    by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.
