Does anyone know where I can find Windows XP update from

I have some old desktop computers that were given to me ( no they did not come with hard drives )

The installation disk that I have of Windows XP is when it first came out

I have a Radio Shack meter that I want to use on it

The manual says Windows XP ( or higher but we will see if this is the case or not )
This meter has a serial port not a USB output

I going to recap the mother board and power supply on one of these old desktop that has serial port so I do have not to use a converter box

I do not plan to use this computer on the internet but I know that Windows XP had updates I have to see if I can find the update disk I know I have but can I find it that the question it was so long ago

Windows uppdate for xp should still work, you may need to find ie8setup for windows xp and install it first, I don't remember. If not there are lots of copies of windowsxp_sp3 around on the internet.

Or you can install what you have and get sp3 etc. from the microsoft update catalog site https://www.catalog.update.microsoft...q=windows%20xp

Or for windows xp sp3 iso https://isoriver.com/windows-xp-sp3-iso/ you will need to provide your own licence key

If you have an original install XP CD (that is, no service packs integrated), or just one with SP1 or SP2 only - do NOT connect the PC to the Internet! -Not even for updates!

SP2 and older versions are still susceptible to getting infected with a worm known as "DownAdUp". You don't have to go to any website - it will get picked up automatically. SP3 has an update that addresses this vulnerability. That said, I still have SP2 PCs on the net, but they have been patched specifically for that vulnerability: update KB958644. You will need Windows Installer 3.1 to run this update, though (KB893803).

But really, just get an SP3 ISO and be done with that - probably easier and a little more secure.

because if it's all to read a multimeter, and if sigrok supports it - then we dont need xp at all.
