Hi,
I have a 2014 vintage Philips 60PFL8708S/12 that suddenly died in the middle of the kids watching a show.

The TV no longer powers on, and leaving it powered on for a few minutes results in the layer-1 error with 2 blinks.
When I short the SDM to ground I get the layer-2 error code 53.
The inside of the TV has no damaged components and no swollen capacitors.
In SDM-mode when all the power rails are left on despite entering the protection mode, I tracked down and measured...
Well I'm still waiting for Verizon to flip the switch....The first ready date was the 16th. That came and went. The new ready date is the 29th. At least they got my phone switched over to Verizon....Now I'm wondering... Do I have to use the verizon DSL software or can I get to the net using my Windows big "E"? I think my AOL will pick right up on the Broad band connection when its turned on as it did last time when I had verizon DSL. So far I am thinking that the people at Verizon are a bunch of Clowns.... 
It shouldn't take a month to turn on a DSL service. 
Anyway I'm going fishing and crabbing today. I don't even think that wireless internet would work in the Blackwater Wildlife Refuge. We have been burning the Smallmouth Bass, and White Perch down there. The SMB's are going from about 3 to 5 lbs! All it takes is a Rooster tail or a Johnsons Spoon and you catch fish.
