    Windows 7 partition sizes inconsistant

Here's what I've done: I added new hard drives to my main rig and installed a fresh install of 7 ultimate alongside a copied install of Arch linux x64. That was fine minus some compatibility issues with Arch (USB3 card mainly). I sinced nuked the arch install and expanded the main 7 partition with parted off a live arch disc (my gparted disc wasn't happy with the system ). After running some command line stuff off a windows 7 disc (to restore the bootloader) I have a bootable 7-only system... but it seems my expanded partition didn't fully update:

    Shows correctly in diskpart:

(Yes I botched the syntax a bit, most of my CLI knowledge is on the Linux side)

    ...but not in disk properties:

... and both ways in disk management:

Running CHKDSK (well, scheduling it and rebooting) didn't help, no errors detected.

Suggestions? Or do I need to re-install 7?

Pro tip, use the windows partitioner to expand next time. Without it in front of me I can't really say what went wrong. Might be reinstall time.

Things I've fixed: anything from semis to crappy Chinese $2 radios, and now an IoT Dildo....

Sometimes you need to break shit to fix it.... Thats why my lawnmower doesn't have a deadman switch or engine brake anymore

I didn't think one could do that to the partition holding the OS in use?

I've used gparted (on the live gparted .iso) to do this in the past without issue... it would trigger an automatic chkdsk on the next windows boot but otherwise AFAIK there wasn't ever an issue.

This is why I use Host Raid vs Windows Raid, You set the raid and patitions before Winodws gets to touch it.

            Umm ok?

That's no good for what I was doing... The issue wasn't windows touching it but parted (the linux program) messing up when I was resizing partitions. A risky procedure that I went ahead with... and got bit by. A re-install of 7 fixed it, no further issues.
