I have one 8 gig stick installed.

I wouldn't disable it. How much system memory do you have ?

I haven't touched the settings since I got the PC so all the settings were set by the install of Windows. After I started getting these memory messages I went into the settings and completely disabled the pagefile which probably wasn't the best but it seems to have helped a little. I am still getting the memory messages.

Have you changed any of the paging file settings under the virtual memory tab ?

I tried multiple different packs and none worked.

I think I may be out of memory because my pagefile is right full and now windows is giving me out of memory messages even though I have 2 gigs of memory free in the task manager.

This may seem completely wrong but try the 128x textures and see how that goes, or if there is such a thing as 32x you could try that to. Don't remember where i have read it but i have a vague memory of people having trouble with certain cards in combination with certain texture resolutions.

There is also tons of settings you can poke around at in java. One that comes to mind is the one that limits the RAM usage of the java engine.

I'm pretty sure it has 2 gigs of memory. The texture pack is 245 megs. My motherboard is an Asus M5A99FX Pro R2.0 and my processor is an AMD FX-8350.

Yes it's an official texture pack. The texture pack is the most popular texture pack for the game and 99% of people I talked to use it so I'm pretty sure it isn't the pack itself. I've seen people using the 128x version which is much heavier than the 64x version that I'm trying to run so I know that it is possible for to work.

I changed a setting and now I'm getting about 10fps which still isn't playable but it is an improvement.

Yes it does. I'm pretty sure that the card has 2 gigs of memory and MSI Afterburner was showing 1800 megs being used. Another thing I noticed on the software was the scale for the Pagefile usage was stuck at the top of the scale at 8000 megs. I believe this has something to do with my memory? Could that be a problem?

I know it is but I really don't think that is the problem because as stated in my first post, MSI Afterburner only shows 20% GPU utilization while it's lagging. This is also with the drivers updated.

Another reason I don't think that it's the graphics card is, that on my screen, I have the standard textures installed, everything looks fine. But when I add the textures for the mods, it doesn't work. This is weird though because the only blocks that are actually on the screen are the vanilla blocks that I already have the textures for. So, the game shouldn't even be rendering any of the blocks from the texture patch. Or am I completely wrong? Do games do something like pre-load all of the textures in the pack or something?

And about my crappy card, I know it sucks because when I play Skyrim I get low fps but that is because my gpu is always at 100%, but when playing this, it never maxes out.

So is there some sort of data bus that is getting saturated?

started a topic PC Ultra Low Framerate

    PC Ultra Low Framerate

Hey guys, I have a Windows 8.1 PC that I built and it's about 2 years old. For normal browsing and file management it's lightning fast, But as soon as I get into games I hit a brick wall. Most of that games I play are slow because my graphics card is a piece and I know it. The main issue I'm having is with the game Resonant Rise 3. I have a base texture pack installed and average about 60fps, but as soon as I add on the texture pack patch for the mods, my screen looks more like a slideshow. Even my desktop and moving windows is ultra slow. The thing that is puzzling me is that none of my components appear to be maxed out. My processor is around 30% while my graphics card is at around 20%. I still have 1.2 gigs of RAM free and my disk activity light only flashes once and a while.

So I ended up downloading a benchmarking program to test my system and I posted the results for each category. I know my graphics scores are trash but that shouldn't be a problem since Resonant Rise has the same graphics as Minecraft. I'm thinking that maybe some sort of data bus is being saturated and not showing up on the system monitors? But that's just a wild guess. Also all of my temperatures are perfectly fine and I have 9 fans in my case.

So any guesses at what might be causing these issues will be greatly appreciated. Also if anyone is wanting more specific specs for my hardware than what is attached, just ask.

    Thanks
