MS recolonizes 2 Hp DV-5 /DV-6 as one?

Hi guys:i suspected that My 2 HP Pavillion DV-6 1259DX and DV-5 1254 US, were recognized by MS as Key activation as concern.
But today i've over come all my suspicions by putting HDD from DV-6 into DV-5 with Win 7 installed and it recognized it right away,
both Hp laptops are running Win 10 Preview installs made the same way from same Win 7 ISO and upgraded same way, showing same Activation # ID#.

Note:both HP Dv-5/and DV-6 show in the Bios that both were installed Win Vista from Factory, But DV-6 was upgraded to Win 7 by the previous owner, and DV-5 still is Win Vista, but it accepted win 7 upgrade and from there on i upgraded to Win 10 Preview.so it means that i could use the upgrades activation as one only PC,which is great,
remember i bought DV-6 Pavillion with Win 7 Installed for 50 bucks,
so my Luck;in a god way.

Nothing surprises me concerning Windows activation crap.

Why not just download the Windows 10 iso ? Then you don't need to install a dodgy Windows 7.

Good question! but as i remember what has been stated by MS,Win7 users will have free upgrade to Win 10,not Vista users!

i tried to make a clean install with win10 Iso you mentioned, but it asked me for drivers but did not specify which ones, see pic.

There is an Enterprise download that includes some extra tools, did you try that one?

Thanks for the link; now my 2 HP Laptops are running great, with this win 10 set up, if i run in any problems in feature i'll give that a try.

besides when i said that my 2 PC's DV-6 and DV-5 Hp Pavilion laptops were validated by MS, i meant in relation to Win 7 and not Win 10.

The free upgrade is only for genuine Windows. Is there a Windows 7 sticker on the laptop ?
There is a big difference between a Windows machine that shows activation and one that has been validated by Microsoft.

What is the hard drive setting in the BIOS and are you installing what are you using to install Windows ? Internal or external DVD or USB ?

there is a Sticker on both HP Dv-6 and Dv 5,but is for win vista, it's mentioned in the bios that win vista was the factory default, but the DV-6 had Win 7 installed over Vista, you can install or upgrade from vista to win 7 by buying a legit key from MS or any other legit MS seller. It's what happens with HP DV-6.

You say;( There is a big difference between a Windows machine that shows activation and one that has been validated by Microsoft,)
i know when it's a legit Key,i've tried to install Win 7 from Iso's on some machines and they have a Grace time of a month for activation, but you can check that all the time on the Update or upgrade section.MS doesn't give you nothing for free so far,the HP DV-6 has a legit key,

Also i always use DVD for installations

You can also download or install from a legitimate Windows disc/iso run an activator and Windows looks and behaved legit, passing validation and getting updates.
However Microsoft do know the difference. How do you ?

I know because Hp Dv-6 with Win 7 installed was running great without any issues with all updates from MS, how you measure if it's legit or not?,the only way i know is when you try the updates from MS,it won't run right, special after the 30 days grace of a Legit ISO of Win 7 and you always have a flag saying 'ACTIVATE" after that it will go to a chaos state.

Running great is no indication of legitimacy as i have said.
You the user can't tell if a key is legit or not. Windows 7 doesn't even need a key to be activated and pass all of the legitimate Microsoft tests. Fake keys can also be purchased online.
Maybe they'll allow any version showing as activated, maybe they won't. Time will tell.

Ok diiff; you made work and made me curious,so i installed the HDD that contains Win 7 not on the HP DV-6 were it belongs, but on the HP DV-5 that has win vista legit key activated, and checked for legitimacy; here the Pic.

As i keep saying, it means nothing. I have a laptop here with exactly the same screen.
This laptop does not have a genuine key in it though.

                              diif i don't want to argue on this with you no more; you have your opinion and i respect it; but for me what matters is that my PC's work right with this Win7 and don't see in it nothing that makes me believe otherwise;
Besides you think i care that my win7 is not 100% legit, besides Win doesn't do more for me than Linux, on contrary i get better off Linux, besides if it fails nothing missing here, in 1 minute i have it running in Linux.

Microsoft yesterday announced that all as long as the device is supported, all versions of Windows 7, pirated or not will get to updates to Windows 10 for free.
