    Raspberry Pi 2

Anyone else order a 2? Mine just got a shipment notice from newark so it will be on its way shortly. Iam really excited for the speed boost I was running pidora on my original model B now with the 2 I can install a native arm v7 fedora. I also hope someone gets the videocore IV to work with android as that would be fun to play with but I doubt it will happen.
    My Computer: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X, Asrock X370 Killer SLI/AC, 32GB G.SKILL TRIDENT Z RGB DDR4 3200, 500GB WD Black NVME and 2TB Toshiba HD,Geforce RTX 3080 FOUNDERS Edition, In-Win 303 White, EVGA SuperNova 750 G3, Windows 10 Pro

i was looking at those, interesting that they can run regular Lin versions wih the new cpu core.
i dont know how useable android would be without a touchscreen though - although you can get one.

It's more of a marketing trick.
From what I've read, Windows on RasPi won't even have a normal desktop interface, just bare NT kernel and command line. So it will be more like DOS than Windows.

Am I the only one that still uses the trusty HTPC?! I tried a R-Pi a long time ago, I was very unimpressed with it. Kinda gunshy about the R-Pi2.

Granted, the main thing I use the HTPC for is my mass DVD collection. I don't stream, I don't have the internet connection for that as rural as I am. I don't watch TV anyway other than football, and I get that over the trusty satellite.

the PI is less powerful than a used phone.... its not worth it cost.

pi is a tool in that you dont "try" one, you use one if you have a specific need.

for example, you can use one to put a printer or "all in one" unit on a network if it only has usb.
or you can use one as a bridge to link a usb camera or 2 onto ethernet for a security system.

good in cars too because it only needs 5v at about half an amp.

Wrong. I tried one as a HTPC. It wasn't worth a shit.

it doesn't have a working driver for ARM.

It should work using any PCL5 driver, they're all the same and the HP speaks PCL.

Regarding the Windows image, I have a Galileo here that I got from MS as an IoT dev kit. It's utterly useless as nothing supports GUIless windows and the dev tools aren't very well optimized for running GUIless (especially since the IDE to compile for the IoT image is Visual Studio).

I was talking to BigTroll about it. The Model B with the composite out seemed perfect for me for the times when I watch movies with an old lady who lives on my block and my DVD bootlegs won't play in her player.

I just can't figure out how to actually play the movie off the thing without some sort of remote control for it once I have it attached to a TV.

The 2100 needs a "Post Script DIMM" to accept PS print jobs. It does speak PCL though which is why it would be odd if there's no PCL 4 or 5 ARM support. PCL 6 might work, I don't have a 2100 myself to test though (I have used one though).

                                          Hi everyone,

My JVC (Vestel) LED TV is stuck on a Android boot loop when I switch the power on.

Previously, I was trying to clean the storage memory (by deleting as many files as possible), I may have delete some start-up Android files.....so I screw it.🤡

When I switch the power on, the initial JVC is shown. I have tried to run Android 9 from a bootable USB on the TV. It starts reading the USB but nothing happens and the JVC logo and Android boot loop keeps the same.

Can anybody help me please finding the 17MB171 USB firmware to try to upload...

Hello. Have a 55" Hisense TV that starts to load the Android OS (no backlight issues) -> reaches the app screen where you can view the assorted icons including Netflix and always crashes at the same point just after this launch. If I quickly press the cursor buttons, the cursor can navigate to the settings menu but will power off just after a few seconds of this activity. Do not believe it is power related since the crash is very accurate in the boot cycle.

After the OS 'crashes', the power does go off and the from white LED goes dark for about 20 seconds and then ON again....

How do modern TVs with Android/WebOS/Roku/etc boot? Debug ports?

Hi I'm having issues trying to get my Sony A1E to power on.

Which made me wonder, how involved is Android in the booting of the TV?

I'm basing this information on what I can glean from the service manual:

In my Sony A1E for example I see:
BKA which houses the main processor and along with the input/outputs.
DKA which possibly does up-conversion, in the block diagram I see VX1 coming in from the BKA and out to the TCON
TCON timing board which drives the actual panel.

                                          On the BKA there's a sub-system called the U-COM...

                                          Hi all,

just wonder whether the Raspberry PI-TOP v3 schematic is available?
not the Raspberry PI itself, but this little add-on board:

                                          Hello,
I'm looking for the official stock firmware for the Acer Iconia One 10 B3-A30 tablet with the following version:
                                          • Firmware version: RV02RC07
                                          • Region: WW GEN1 (WorldWide)
                                          • Chipset: MediaTek MT8163
                                          • Android version: 6.0

I've searched various sites but couldn't find this exact version. If anyone has a working download link or can share the firmware, I'd really appreciate it.
                                          Thank you in advance!
