Are your video signal cables (VGA and DVI whatever,) thin or THICK? Thick ones and stiff
means more shielding and multiple coaxs for each video signal (especially VGA).

And if this cables for each machine goes thru one plug esp DB15, RUN!! That is NOT
approved approach to quality. Ideally, seperate cables so you can replace defective cables and trust me we have killed few cables over the years.

The cables are all seperate. Mouse and keyboard are two seperate cables. VGA is also a seperate cable.

The video cables are thin compared to the cables that I would usually get bundled with my monitor which is a worry for me. Where can i get some dcent replacement VGA cables for my KVM?

For my personal use, I have the Belkin 6-port KVM. Mine is ancient, as it has RS232 mouse and AT style ports. The PS2 to Serial adapter isn't recognized by something, so this doesn't work for my mousing needs. I use Remote Console, or a USB mouse as need be. These are my business servers, so they don't require much daily attention.

I've placed two Belkin USB and am dissatisfied with both. They are flaky, and easily confused. One of these is switching an HP desktop and a Dell docking station. It flat fails to work properly with the docking station.

IMO, you get what you pay for in a KVM. Buy one that uses wall power. The better Belkin are good... mine has lasted a decade. Down Under restricts your choices, plus shipping is a factor.

And I thought VGA cables that come with monitors were thin!

Ummm....I dunno where you can get these cables. Hover they should not be too hard to source.

You should be able to get replacement cables from any decent computer store. I'm not sure, but I think the Belkin I have uses "extender" cables, meaning male on one end and female on the other. If I can dig it out, I'll let you know. Hmmmmmm...hell....might even send it to you if ya want the thing...

I decided to get the VGA cable for my LCD monitor and plug it from the KVM to my PC and the video quality improved by alot. Looks like I can confirm that the issue is with the cables and not with the KVM.
