    Screen inverters

Can old ones cause screens to be dim/slightly washed out?

I thought the screen in my L300 was poor quality, has poor viewing contrast and really not very bright. Tried in another L300 and it's nice and vibrant.

Could a worn out inverter do this?

Inverter just powers the backlight, so could make it dim, but if you mean washed out as in "lacking contrast" then no it cant cause that. but if you mean having too much contrast / too dark, then yes it could cause that.

If you swaped the screens for testing, why not swap the inverter?
Fixed so far 12 lcd's , 1 plasmas, 5 monitors, 0 dlp's (plan to keep the dlps at 0). and 3 atx power supplies, and 2 motherboards.
