well i borked my system good this time!

as the title states i borked my system good this time!

    first the link:http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2143084

    now the "poetry"
my systems breaking up This is it the apocalypse its Enough to make my systems blow, now I'm booting up to ash and dust then its hit the big black wall.

    now the plan:
run "dpkg --get-selections > software.aptlist" on the sick system
flush the system configs from my home dir
    install linux mint
run "dpkg --get-selections > software.newsystem.aptlist" on the mint install
    compare the 2 .aptlist files
install the missing software except opera
    run apt-get install Nautilus
    run apt-get install lightdm
    run apt-get install unity
    run apt-get remove nemo
    reconfigure cinnamon
Things I've fixed: anything from semis to crappy Chinese $2 radios, and now an IoT Dildo....

"Dude, this is Wyoming, i hopped on and sent 'er. No fucking around." -- Me

Excuse me while i do something dangerous

You must have a sad, sad boring life if you hate on people harmlessly enjoying life with an animal costume.

Sometimes you need to break shit to fix it.... Thats why my lawnmower doesn't have a deadman switch or engine brake anymore

That reminds me of my failed Ubuntu->Debian conversion. They said it can't be done. My luck wasn't any better.

The worst for me was Arch!
Arch was an unstable little gremlin! (At least when trying to install the Nvidia graphics support)

Every time I pacman -S nvidia, (or the like) it was thoroughly borked every time!
On reboot, always an error about failing to find rootfs. And why did it bork my filesystem and/or ATA support? It had no business touching either!

But, this was about the initramfs builder touching somethings it shouldn't have.
It F-ed up in a 2 year old kind of way.

Should of stayed with Debian or used SliTaz.

Arch's Nvidia support was appalling! TBH, it was alpha-quality!

[UPDATE] got it working well now!
                my first attempt
                Code:
                # apt-get install ubuntu-desktop
result: apt-get and dpkg broken, /etc/host corrupt, and eventualy x.org broken.

                second attempt successful
                Code:
                # apt-get install unity compiz gnome-session nautilus lightdm
                # apt-get remove nemo
                # apt-get -f install
                # apt-get autoremove
                # apt-get update
                # reboot
result: success in the absolute degree!

now i'm just rocking out some radioactive

                ps: screen shots
