    Best free Email Clients

Now that I've converted my main rig to Windows 7, I've come across a snag.

Problem: I can't find a decent email client.

Under linux I used evolution which was IMHO pretty good. However, the windows version of it was outdated and I flat out couldn't make run.

I tried thunderbird but there were various things I didn't like. The layout sucked for one thing.

I'm currently using windows live mail but even it has a few shortcomings... like being bloated and not having a way to organize emails by read/unread status There is an "unread mail" folder, but that pulls up everything including oblviously unread archives.

What I'm looking for is a good FREE email client... Here's a few must-haves:

    1. Must be able to do IMAP. That's what works best for me.
    2. Must actually be usable. No crippleware (if a few super advanced features I'll never use are missing, then it's OK).
    3. Must be somewhat lightweight. No bloatware.
    4. Must be usable offline. No "cloud apps" (if I wanted that I'd use webmail).

    Any suggestions?

I still see Eudora used on client PCs at work on rare occasions.

Another free one that some people like is Incredimail.

At least with thunderbird you can change the layouts from the menu, or you can make extensions to change it.

Other clients don't let you do that.

I wonder if this tablet is usable in near future?
I wonder how come I don't see yet artifacts of a broken screen (vertical lines)?

                            Is this inductor still usable?
                            by Kloper
                            Hi all,
I found this inductor in a server power supply and I am unsure if its still usable.
First I thought its an exploded diode, but when I removed it I saw the designation L on the PCB and after asking on discord it turned out its a inductor. How ever... it looks to me like its a wrap of thin layers of some material and its flaking off on touch. Also the area where it was, all the components there are covered in some white powder.. like there was an explosion going out from this inductor.
So the question is... is this still usable, and if not... what kind of inductor is...

I just bought two non-working Kenwood CS4035 scopes to muck around with, as I'm in the process of learning electronic repair, so figured they should teach me something.

They have linear power supplies, and on one of the PSU boards, there is a 4700uF electrolytic which had it top blown open.
Turns out that both scopes have had various repair/mods done before and this cap had been fitted in reversed polarity.

Anyway, out of interest, I figured I would see how a blown cap tested, so flattened the top and took a reading, which came back as 4800uF, with negligible...
