    Another cardboard box.

Yeah, a box. But inside we have:

This is ratdude's Boxputer 2! For those newer to the forum, the defunct boxputer 1 is here.

The mainboard is an Intel D201GLY. by modern standards pretty weak, but it was a freebie and I was tired of it collecting dust. RAM wise, it has a PC4200 512mb module (it can go up to 2gb IIRC).

    The front:

On the left are 4 USB ports. On the right we have the power switch, the power LED, and where the HDD led goes (my pigtail's LED broke when went to glue it in, when I have another red LED I'll fix that issue).

On the right side we have the air intake:

Eventually I'll get some Standoffs and mount the HDD off the side a bit like the last boxputer. For now, it is what it is.

Oh, and the HDD is one of these:

    In the back we have:

    Nothing too special here.

Here's the kicker: I don't have a usable OS for it. I'm out of XP (and newer) COA's and thanks to the SIS sh!tty graphics, linux is a bust:

So until I come across a trached case with an XP code, It's for looks only.

if you can get them off w/o ripping the stickers in half, yeah. or at least I'd need to know how old they were (pre-sp2 pro and pre-sp3 home use different discs than the newer variants, I have all 4 in .iso).

PM or email me for details.

Search for a few of my other threads involving case mods... you've seen nothing. I'll edit in a few links of some of my other works in 2012.

          EDIT:

Here's a few of my best 2012 case (or other computer metalworking) mods I've done

          My main rig:

https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=19538 (current iteration, long thread, lots of mods throughout)
https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...led#post174600 (old iteration of that case, techincially pre-2012, has some airflow mods to the case)

          My HTPC:

https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=21743 (different gpu currently, otherwise the same)

There are other case mods by other members on the forums if you dig enough.

I don't understand why it needs to come off? Just write the number down, then use a sharpie or something to destroy the sticker if you want to be legit about it.

                  He's working on it.

Reason I want the actual stickers is I don't want some f-tard swiping them at the recyclers and then invalidating the code. Also, I can laminate the stickers in packing tape and attach them to cases.. that way if they get rehomed, the valid code goes with the system.

Because having the sticker there looks more legit

I usually just carefully slide a stanley knife blade under the stickers if I want to remove them.
I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

                      Re: Another cardboard box.

I installed XP home on it the other night.

What happened was my dad's (well, currently my mom's as well) computer (the supermicro PDSGE w/dremeled I/O shield) dookie'd on them and needed an XP re-load... and since I had one XP pro code not yet used, that rig took priority over the other rigs on the "xp waiting list"

I had used XP home on it before... but XP pro seemed to be a better fit (it installs up better in some ways). Net result: I now had an XP home code I could use, and the cardboard rig received it.

Pics to come later when I get more of it done. Even on winter break I always have something to do...
