    Dell blade 1855 server

Just bought one on ebay thinking i could use it as a stand alone server, bit of research shows that you need the rack for it.

Is there a way to use it without the rack? With a normal pc psu?

Or should i tell the guy i dont want it?

    It was £0.99p ($1.60ish)

It has 2 56gb hdd but doesnt say what cpu (cpus) it has.

Also states it is tested and working.

    Re: Dell blade 1855 server

I have never heard of anyone successfully converting a blade to a standalone server. I have researched the idea myself.

The (Netburst-based) CPUs, & mobo are worth scrap gold/metal.
The HDDs are probably actually 36GB drives (I've never heard of 56GB drives). They are worth 5.00 each.
The heatsinks (really wide, long, & short) & enclosure could be good for (SFF) project parts.

I hope that helps your decision.

Troubleshooting of redundant F750E-S0 Dell PowerEdge Server
        by omega
        Hello all,
as a beginner electronics hobbyist, after a few years I would like to place another post on this Forum section, given that I did not succeed in finding any useful advice among the other posts.

Over the last years, I have been using a PowerEdge Dell Server with two redundant PSUs, namely the 750W F750E-S0 ones (aka 06W2PW). Unfortunately, last summer one of them failed (perhaps owing to an overheating), and the server had for working to take into account the other one only. Of course I opened and tried to troubleshoot the failed PSU, but each cap I tested seemed to...

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
        by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

Dell Optiplex 760 USFF BIOS Mod Request for QuadCore CPUs
        by Nebukadnerzar_V
        Hi guys!
        I have a Dell Optiplex 760 USFF (Ultra-Small Form-Factor).
It currently only supports Dual-Core CPUs and will halt with an error message, when a QuadCore is installed.

I have seen people running QuadCores in these machines, but the BIOS needs to be modded.
Since I have not found the modded BIOS to download anywhere, I am asking you guys for help:

Could you please add support for QuadCore CPUs (in my case the Core2Quad Q9550) to the BIOS?

I have attached the Dump of my machine.

        S/N: SRW2K4J
        Reg Model: DCTR...
