Re: Dell Latitude E6410 Bios Passward

You sure its not asking for the OS password ?

Here is the quick fix below..

If you have forgotten your Bios password then you should open your computer case and remove the motherboard battery for five minutes. Find the jumper that resets CMOS (it is usually located near the battery). It has three contacts. Two of them, the first and second, are short - circuited with a jumper. Short-circuit the second and third for a few minutes. This clears CMOS and removes passwords.

Last I remembered, that doesn't seem to work on laptops. Especially on recent laptops like OP's.

I don't recall the HDD password string with 8 digits and 2A7B, only 11, and then 2A7B. Unless...

Edit: Read it should be padded with asterisks... Probably either before or after the tag...? Like ***6VCP23YU-2A7B or 6VCP23YU***-2A7B?

Short service tag should be right padded with '*' up to length 7 chars
HDD serial number is right 11 chars from real HDDSerNum left padded with '*'
Some BIOSes has left pad HDD serial number with spaces instead '*'

      I have two v2s and one v1.

I am still looking at these boards nearly every day.

What I'm doing: Planning an upgrade of my mining setup from Block Erupters to Red Furys. Though, if the Block Erupters don't sell, I will keep using them for a while.

Dell Latitude 5490 (LA-F401P) - Boots from USB-C only, not from DC Jack after BIOS flash
              by YOUCEF4787
              Hello everyone,
I'm working on a Dell Latitude 5490 with a LA-F401P motherboard that has a very peculiar issue, and I would appreciate your insights.
              Initial Problem:
The laptop was completely dead, no signs of life, no power LED.
              Action Taken:
I flashed the main BIOS chip with a clean dump. This brought the machine back to life, but with a strange limitation.
Current Situation & The Main Issue:
The laptop now works perfectly when powered through the USB-C port. It charges the battery, powers on, boots into the OS, and functions 100% correctly....

Dell Latitude 5400 Chromebook UEFI bios
              by jhanra
Hi there masters, recently i got a dell 5400 chromebook and wanted to install windows, i searched the internet and i found out other people also wanting a UEFI bios for this model, i searched there is a R/W legacy, but there are bugs like keyboard/trackpad not working, and hard to install.

so i decided to try to port one, this bios is based on dell 5400 windows version, i am testing this bios for a week now an found only a little to no bug at all in windows 10, or only a minor issue
in windows 11 sound driver compatibility, but overall its ok, for me i can deal with it, 😅😅😅...

Dell Latitude E7270 - Requesting BIOS clean/corrupt? service tag CB00KC2
              by TripTop
              Hi

i have dell latitude E7270 with following symptoms:
              - takes long time to restart.
              - sometimes powers on and then off
              - sometimes while working it just dies,

From googling online bios clean could possible resolve this?

i was able to save bios and was going to try bios clean myself but get an below error when i drop it in ME analyzer.(unsure whether this sometimes occurs or could be due to bad/corrupt bios)

As ME analyzer gave me an error i just decided to write bios with a cleaned bios from E7270 bios post.
              I reinstall...

Dell 9010 MT BIOS Update Always Fails
              by mikeybass
Hi, I hope some one has some advice for me. I searched the forums but didn't see anything relevant. I acquired two identical Dell 9010 Mid Tower computers from a business office upgrade (they were going to throw them out). Both of them have the same motherboard (00F82W). One of them works flawlessly. The other one had a corrupted BIOS. I tried flashing numerous main BIOS and EC files from the internet, but none of them worked. I decided to copy the main BIOS and EC from the working 9010 computer and successfully flashed the corrupted BIOS. This got the computer able to boot again and run norm...
