    The good ol' days.....

    Here is a 4k ferrite core page of memory circa mid 80s I believe. Don't know what it came from. Its about 5"x5".

    I wish I had a better pic of it.

    4kb.....we've sure come a long way......

              I remember hearing that Tandem had a core memory board in the late 70s or early 80s due to a shortage of RAM chips - probably in the era of 4K or 16K chips. Their hot new HDD when I came on in '82 was 300MB with 14" platters, in a stand-alone cabinet.

                  Pete...now that you mention it, I believe that is where this came from. My CRS is working overtime and I just didn't remember last night when I posted this. Hmmmm...coulda been the Seagrams too though.
