Minecraft weirdness...

So there I was playing 1.8.1 using a launcher I downloaded off some site somewhere and some username that was provided by the site. Been playing it now for several weeks, had some mod packs installed and what not. Was minding my own business collecting cobblestone for a super huge quad mob grinder tower I was working on, my graphics card crashed (I have my X1950 pro working now, turns out it has been overheating) and upon restarting the game after a crash all of a sudden *poof* it starts to download the full release no play until you pay us version. I was like WTF... *poof* there go my mods, but at least my save files still work.

I think I can deal with it.

LOL it is cheap to buy anyway. I also found a way to use it offline.

I was thinking about doing that soon but I blew all my money on bullshit from geeks and newegg (I got 8gb of ddr3-1600 for $32 and some change). I reeeaaallly wanted the full version as 1.8.1 beta is pretty lacking compared to the actual full release version but I mean it just sorta downloaded itself... I didn't ask it to update or anything.

Besides I'm pissed. The official release has seasons on it, and damn if the freaking moat around my castle didn't turn into ice. Thank goodness I had cactii and a fence for backup.

Um... you could run your own server and use a plugin/mod to disable the seasons or do things that you dislike...

I run my own server that my friends and some of theirs can play on.
it is a vanilla server so no mods all legit however it is set to offline mode due to the invalid server key issue (also let's us play when minecraft.net is down)
I start it with this putting my name where it says YOURnameHERE

java -Xms512m -Xmx1024m -cp "%APPDATA%\.minecraft\bin\*" -Djava.library.path="%APPDATA%\.minecraft\bin\natives" net.minecraft.client.Minecraft "YOURnameHERE"

now they have promoted a new build for 1.0 i'll also run a modded one too.

Bukkit is great Their new "Pail" interface is nice too!
I finally set up my server again (in addition, I host a few of my friends servers)
