    What's good ISA video card?

That's quickest and has decent size of video ram on card?

I'm not sure of cirrus logic :P, Trident ditto. This leaves WDC but I'm not sure on speed but this limits to 256K or 512K, Tseng ET4000AX can go to 1MB but this are fetching high price even for ISA cards. I'm stumped. Why?

cause they're pretty much compatible with everything (of that time), have a very good DOS performance and were rather common..

the biggest memory size i know of would be the ATi Mach64 (with up to 4MB). pretty damn rare though.

Cirrus Logic CL542x and CL543x based cards are relatively cheap. and still pretty damn quick

other ones (for dos games.. windows stuff.. not so much):
Trident TVGA8900CL-C (1MB ; stay away from other models like the 8900CL-B and the TVGA9000's .. those only reach roughly 1/3rd of the 8900CL-C performance)
    ATi Mach32 2MB
    Diamond Speedstar 64 (CL5434 2MB)

Can it be VLB, or does it have to be strictly ISA?
"We have offered them (the Arabs) a sensible way for so many years. But no, they wanted to fight. Fine! We gave them technology, the latest, the kind even Vietnam didn't have. They had double superiority in tanks and aircraft, triple in artillery, and in air defense and anti-tank weapons they had absolute supremacy. And what? Once again they were beaten. Once again they scrammed [sic]. Once again they screamed for us to come save them. Sadat woke me up in the middle of the night twice over the phone, 'Save me!' He demanded to send Soviet troops, and immediately! No! We are not going to fight for them."

^ i grew up with that stuff..
started out with a Commodore PC30 III (286 12MHz ; 8Bit ISA only) .. was my mum's PC with DOS 3.3, norton commander, windows 3.0 and my favorite game: Grand Prix Circuit by Accolade
my first own computer was a 386DX33.. entirely made out of trashpicked parts..
i loved playing games like Jill of the Jungle and old stuff like that

            Not really.
If you have a very fat wallet you can get a socket 478 board with ISA.

ISA is still common in industrial systems too.

Oh the joys of the long black socket! How about the old ATI Matrox cards?
