P5LD2 is 945P chipset - has more life left in it. Core 2 & Pentium Dual Core support.
Have one of these at work covered in Panasonic

    Prepare to buy DDR2 memory.

note that Pentium D's (P4 x2) are also dualcores, while still being slow as shit.

look up the board revision. if it's V2.0 or higher, the asus is the better board from a technical point of view (Core 2 CPU support).

if it's not, they're both just old use-/worthless P4-only boards..

              "amd" ddr2...
              by eccerr0r
So what's with the "AMD" DDR2?

My (Intel) board "officially" supports 4G DDR2's (four slots, 16G total) but this "AMD" deal is kind of scary recalling back to the old SDRAM deal. In fact I have a few 512M SDRAM modules now but they don't work in my 440BX board, which is too bad, would rather run this board with 2GB RAM through its four slots, else have to use the VIA boards with only 3 slots is the best I can otherwise do.

But anyway I heard these "AMD" DDR2 still "work" on an Intel board but cannot clock at PC6400...

Recommend a decent Multimeter on the cheap
              by aaronkatrini
              Hi all,

I was looking to upgrade my main multimeter (Asita MD591) with something that has more features. I'll use it mostly for board diagnostic and diy repairs. I've been eyeing out many of those multi-function ones from Aliexpress but can't seem to make my mind up. Here are the features that I'm looking after:

              - Autorange
              - DC volts up to 30V
              - Accurate Resistance
              - Diode test (Beep mode)
              - Frequency up to 200MHz
              - Capacitanze up to 5000uF
              - as cheap as possible

Other functions are not needed but those which are needed...

              DDR2 resistor packs... 0804?
              by eccerr0r
              Are those typical resistor packs on DDR2 modules 0804 (2010 metric?) 22Ω x 4?

Wondering what I need to buy if I can't find a sacrificial board with one... which will be annoying if I only need one, just like buying 1 resistor, except I'd be buying 4...

Cooler Master ATC-S + Some other CoolerMaster Case - 2-fer in 1 Thread
              by Topcat
This is a Coolermaster case double-header.... The reason this one didn't get added to my 'misc build' thread is becasue the Cooler Master ATC-S aluminum case....That case is a class-act way above & beyond anything in that thread! However, we have to get through a mediocre build to get to the treasure!

...but here's the two Cooler Master cases in question; both of which were drop-offs for recycling.... The one on the left, I'm not really sure what model it is. It's nothing overly special, but it is well-made. The one on the right is an ATC-S solid aluminum, best I can determine...
