Heres another board I have, I got this off e-bay so when I found this site I had the sudden inclination to check the caps. Im not sure about the ones next to the CPU socket, are they raising a little or do they normally look like that?

Re: Jetway V6DP
no they dont look ok. some caps are starting preliminary bulges around the vents. it may take a while they will be puking orange in the future and the board will be unstable. better to recap soon and enjoy the board how the designers wished it had become.Comment

Re: Jetway V6DP
Thanks all, it confirms what I feared - that the CPU ones are bulging a little and I can't expect any better from the others either. Fortunately those photos show the majority of the caps so its not too many to replace, though I certainly do not find the prospect appealing none the less.
I will have to get the board out and check the values on those caps then pay a friendly visit to rswww.com, unless anyone knows of a better place in the UK for them. Id see if I could pull some off another board but I wouldnt know if they were any better.Comment

Re: Jetway V6DP
The bulging is equivocal. I've seen that kind of bulging on some brand new, name brand, caps. And I've seen it be the initial bulging in caps I've been torturing, caps that eventually vented.
If they're a brand that tends to fail, replacement now might save headaches later. There must be a Johnny Cochrane-esque quip in that: "If the caps a crap, they're going to zap."PeteS in CA

It has been a long while since I posted here to ask anything....hope you can help.
I have this Samsung power supply that uses SPC1012T as driver for the PFC and it's giving me a problem that I can't narrow down though I've troubleshooted and fixed hundreds of boards similar circuits.
I am attaching a schematic from a different Samsung board, but the topography is very very similar if not 100% the same and it uses SPC1012T, which BTW is a pinout match to UCC28063 for which there's plenty of information. I haven't confirmed they are functional equivalents, but I strongly... -
by mferna14Dear Friends., I am working on an ASUS Model: G513QE-SB91-CB, Serial # M8NRKD041417338, Motherboard: G513-6050A3249301-MB-A03(A3). The problem is that while using the laptop, just freezes all of a sudden., & sometimes while booting the ring stops to spin. I replaced with known good Memory & the a New SSD, installed Fresh Win 11 on this same laptop. Did not freeze during installation. But when re-booted, Win 11 boot ring stopped. I turned off from the power button. Again turned on & it booted well to Windows. Upon Windows update, it froze again. Even the BIOS has been updated &...
