    Digikey P/N P10271-ND (220UF 25V)

Hi all! Just received a shipment today from Digikey for recapping a Gateway FPD2185W, and when I opened the box I got a little surprise! I had ordered a P10271-ND, which is supposed to be a Panasonic FC 220UF 25V radial cap, but instead I received the attached. Did I order the wrong part, or did someone at Digikey make a mistake? It doesn't even look close...

The label is right, the part is wrong. Someone screwed up on their end.

Should have just ordered some of these and called it a day....

Oh bugger! I didn't know that parts were sold here. I will certainly keep that in mind next time, and thanks for the confirmation!

Send digikey customer support an email saying there was an error in the shipment, and they'll send you the correct thing pronto. I've had two separate errors (broken LED array, package of 5 resistors only had 4) and they sent me new stuff out the same day I told them about it. They won't even make you send the resistors back!

Why can't 1 ohm precision resistors be used in place of 220uF capacitors?

Digikey was excellent to deal with, they are sending the proper parts at no charge. Does anyone want a couple 1 Ohm axial resistors? hah

They just screwed up part of my order a few weeks back I ordered 2 150uf 450V Panasonic caps.

They sent me a Tyco automotive connector. Doesn't look anything like a cap .

Third "picking error" I've had from them since my first order in 05. They may have fancy automated packing equipment but that means nothing when the guy packing the bags screws up.
Elements of the past and the future combining to make something not quite as good as either.

                Picking caps for Antec SU-380
                by ajdrenter
In my search for a proper 5v heavy ATX power supply, I selected an old Antec SU-380 that I've had in storage for a long time. Opening the power supply reveals a couple bulged capacitors. I removed all the caps and made a map for myself. I found the datasheet for the PCE TUR series in this thread:
                https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=14159
It says these are general purpose, so I assume I can replace them with any general purpose capacitors, but I don't really know anything about power supply circuits or reading capacitor datasheets. Despite this, I've been shopping for replacements:...

NAD C320BEE repair possibly bad capacitors
                by Alfieh
hey Im very new to repairing electronics with capacitors as well as using a multimeter so I need so help/guidance fixing this issue

recently I was handed a family members old NAD C320BEE that they had in their loft for storage for a few years but when powered on it went into power safety mode due to a problem on the protection circuit somewhere before it went into storage I was told it worked fine I found lots of people online talking about how the capasitors are known to be pretty bad in this model and can cause this issue the only problem being I don't have much experience sorting...

                Cyberpower 1500AVR UPS repair
                by quickname
I'd like to start out by thanking this forum for providing the info to be able to repair my 15 year old CP1500AVRLCD UPS. Here is all the info I gathered during my trouble-shooting and re-capping.

Like clockwork, I've had to replace the SLA batteries every 4 years. It was about that time and the UPS was acting like it needed new batteries... randomly shutting off with AC present, not being able to charge fully, and poor runtime when AC was removed. So, I replaced the batteries but noticed that it was not charging properly.

I decided to verify that the batteries were...

                Onkyo/Integra DBS-50.2 Blu-Ray Player - Won't turn on or shuts off immediately.
                by Rolin
I have an Integra DBS-50.2 Blu-Ray Player that I haven't used in a while. Tried to turn on and it turned on for a brief moment with "hello" on the display then shuts off. Dead from that point on unless I unplug it and try again. Took it apart and checked a few well labeled voltages on the Power Supply board and found the 3.3V isn't measuring on the board (unless I'm misunderstanding what I'm measuring). I have a few pics of the board and schematics. There's a 4 PIN voltage regulator at location IC1301 with a part number 070XFC1 by Sharp that I believe should output 3.3V on PIN2,...

Finding comparable ferrite beads on mouser/digikey?
                by mrkmpn
I have an inspiron with "power rail failure" LED codes flashing, and have found a blown capacitor and ferrite bead (inductor, I guess...)

I've found the replacement capacitor on mouser, but am unsure how to properly search for the ferrite bead. I have the schematics and boardview, so I have found the original bead part#, but the data sheet doesn't seem to include the information I need for the filters on mouser and digikey.

For inductance, and a few other values it just says "Refer to standard electrical characteristics list"

                Here's...
