    USB not power up on DELL XPS 400

    Computer Dell XPS 400 motherboard part no. FJ030

    Hi, this is my first post here and hope to get some light. I'm trying to see if my motherboard has a bad cap problem.

    Problem: Computer wont boot. I see the bios info but mark a keyboard error the mother board only have usb ports no mini dim and none oy my motherboard ports works.

    Test: I already test the power supply and it's delivering the right amount of voltage, I buy a pci usb port cards and those usb ports wont work either.

    Mi hypothesis is that some bad caps on the board i inspect most of them and I dont see any visual problems.

    I will like to know opinions.

    Thanks

      Watch out for United Chemicon KZG on that board..... check them for shorts.

      KZG can fail with no signs, Id change them all if you have them.

        Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
        by Tynan Dill
        I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

        Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

        I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

        The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

        With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

        Assuming...

        Dell inspiron 17 (7786) - DP/N 09P7JP - odd power issues, starting with no power LED
        by zlr8r
        hey guys, hoping for some pointers to repair an eBay bought "faulty" laptop.

        Ill try and give as much info as I can.

        Dell Inspiron 17 (7786) Laptop
        Service Tag: 5J0NHT2
        Bios: 1.9.0

        When I received this , it would only flicker on the KB backlight for a second, then off and on.
        Then it started getting weirder!
        Sometimes when attaching the AC power supply, and pressing various pre-boot diagnostic keyboard keys... it did try to boot, in fact out of a hundred attempts, the laptop did actually boot into the Bios ! but never has...

        Dell Latitude 5590 (motherboard: LA-F411P Rev 1.0) No Power (Liquid Damage)
        by zklgfs
        Hi,

        I have a Dell Latitude 5590 with motherboard LA-F411P Rev 1.0 that has liquid damage and doesn't turn on anymore when only the charger is plugged in. However, it does turn on when powering it from a battery. I couldn't find schematics for this exact board, but LA-F401P seems to be similar (that post says LA-F411P, but the attached schematics are actually for LA-F401P): https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...oardview-neede...

        Dell la-d801p motherboard no power
        by alex26
        Hello.
        I need help with a laptop Dell with LA-D801P motherboard.
        The laptop completely died, no power, no leds.
        The voltage of 19V is present at the output of the second mosfet.
        The voltage on Pin 9 and 19 of PU102 is 0V.
        Voltage on
        PU100 :
        pin2 =19v
        pin11 =4.16v
        pin12 =0.18v
        pin17 =0v
        pin19 =0v
        I have 0 ohms on the coils PL100, PL301 and PL700.
        If I remove pjp102 the short remains on the side of +3VALW.
        Then I removed pjp501 and pjp801 but the short did not go to the integrated PU500 and PU800.
        Then I checked...

        Dell Motherboard LA-K491P no power
        by mferna14
        Dear Friends, I am working on Dell Latitude 5420 Motherboard LA-K491P Rev: 2.0(A01) ., Absolutely no power at all. I tried to find the schematics but I think it's not available. Upon observation I saw one chip ISL95860 burnt near the CPU, replaced it but still nothing. The Amp meter is totally blacked out, no display at all. When I connect the battery, at least on one of the battery terminal data lines pins there is 3.3v present. This board is using JHL8040R for each USB-C ports. Can anyone help where to start & if anyome can share the schematics, I would appreciate. Thanks in advance
