Aishi Capacitors (same value, different height)

    Hi everyone,

I'm refurbing a non-working DVR (won't power up) and starting by replacing the caps in the PSU PCB section. All caps are Aishi and some have already tested bad and will be replaced, however I have a quick question:

There's a bunch of 1000uF 16V caps, but one is taller than the others. The majority are marked CD288Z, and the taller one is CD288S. A quick Web search has not turned up any useful info, so can anyone let me know from experience whether there's any major differences between the two types that may be relevant for how I replace them. I presume it's either just production line variances or might be more important - ie: ripple or ESR??

    Thanks

      AisHi?
      by Bishop
I had a bad ballast in a light fixture so I took it apart and found two AisHi 200v, 47uf caps.

This is my first AisHi cap. Are they quality or not?

TP-Link Kasa KP105 - rapidly power cycling when plugged in
      by spleenharvester
One of my KP105 smart plugs failed today. It started very rapidly power cycling (you could hear the relay clicking on and off and the LED was going green/orange repeatedly).

I was going to just bin it but I opened it up out of curiosity. Found a swollen cap in the corner (bottom right of image). AiSHi brand, 470uF 10V 105*C. Not sure what purpose it serves exactly so can't comment on whether it is appropriately specced. Other members of this forum have reported similar findings with off-brand smart plugs but this is the first time I have seen evidence of this happening with a brand...

      Hello everyone,

A notebook arrived at the workshop, HP g42 daax1jmb8c0 rev:c, which turns on but does not give an image, we already tried with the ram, voltages, hdmi outputs and nothing, and from what I see it is a bios problem,

Fender Mustang non valve guitar amp - owner connected 110v amp to 220v.
      by t4796
      Hi all,

I recently picked up this amp as not working. I took it as is. Didn't notice until I got home it had foreign power plug and was marked 110v and our local voltage is 220v so then I knew what had happened to it.

Opened it up and was able to find the schematic online. In the schematic I have uploaded I have erased the parts for 220v operation to make it easier for me to visualise however I have since added the two additional diodes and remove the wire link from the power supply so I can test it easier on 220v

From the FAQ I learnt that for 110v the power...

AA and AAA battery charger capacitors?
      by slybunda
hey all, iv got my favourite battery charger here which iv had for many years probably 15 years now or maybe even more. it still works good but thought id open it up to clean the dust out of it, lots of dust inside but now its clean and noticed 4 capacitors inside it and wondered if i should replace them.
      it has inside:
      2 x 47uf 16v caps 105c branded as Su'scon (lol sounds sus to me)
      2 x 470uf 16v LZ105c branded as G.Luxon

not heard of these brands are they any good?

iv attached photos of the charger and the board inside for an idea on the type of...
