i have here a compaq presario 7000 board. 6 rubycon yxg, 7 iq. none of the iq visibly failed.

board posts slower than an identical board (oddly, with nova in place of iq)

Is it because the faster one is set to Quick Start = Enabled (or equivalent) and the slower one isn't ?

If this board will be used for anything where you care about reliability, then I'd replace the IQ regardless of current condition.

But as for your symptoms, I've heard of high ESR causing a slow boot. People have talked about that happening when they used general purpose caps from Radio Shack. Never seen it myself though. Definitely check your BIOS settings like pfrcom said.
