I'm sure you haven't seen that thread title before
anyway
I think I've got a machine with bad caps, but I am not sure. Basically, after leaving it on for long periods, it will sometimes just turn off. After it does this, I have to remove the battery, unplug it and push the power button, then plug it back in to get it to turn on again. If I don't, I have to wait a day before it will power on again. Also, when I plug something into the headphone jack, sometimes the laptop will emit a very strange noise when there is HDD activity...I can't describe it, almost like someone blowing into a microphone I guess. I would just open it up and check myself, but I don't have tools with me. Unfortunately this hunk of junk(IBM Thinkpad T22, made in ~2000) is my main computer for another 3 weeks, but there is a computer lab in the dorms I'm staying at, so if I absolutely *have* to stop using this thing I can. So, anyway, just wondering what everyone else thought, whether this sounds like bad caps or not. Thanks.
