    Bad Sanyo

Well, It would seem that Sanyo lytics are not immune from problems. The photos are of a 1500uf 6.3 WX Sanyo. Location is between the AGP and PCI 1 slots on a MSI MS-6373. I don't think it was a cascade failure as board was recapped completely by someone using Sanyo, UCC, and Rubycon.

The location may be the killer depending on the video card or PCI cards involved. Odd though that only that one cap appears to have failed. I am going to replace it and see if the board recovers.

I've seen quite a few bad Sanyo WX series caps on Acer 5200 series PC's. A corporate client sent me about 40 of them to recap a while back.

There are counterfeit Sanyos around - examine it carefully to see if the fonts, vents, finish, etc. look OK.

Any quality electrolytic cap can fail, it just takes long-term exposure to a higher amount of heat to make any cap (even Rubycon caps) fail.

Can someone please direct me to the location of the BIOS? I've attached an image of the motherboard. Would like someone to point out the location or if I do indeed need to pull the motherboard if it's on the other side. Thank you....

Mystery 80s Sanyo cap - perhaps polymer?
                by cj_reha
Hey all I've been working on a 1984 Sanyo 27" color TV which had a smattering of bad caps in the video switching circuit. I found this oddball little 1uF 25V cap which looks to me like an early polymer, but I can't find concrete info proving it. I know Sanyo was a big player in early polymer cap development and this is the time period where they were just getting on the market, so I'm wondering if anyone has crusty old datasheets that could help identify it and determine if my suspicions are right? It has the same epoxy end seal and font/formatting as some old stock Os-Cons I've got laying...

                by tarikabak
Hello, one of the vrams of my palit rtx 3060 model graphics card is showing as faulty. I will replace the faulty vram with a new one, but I could not find out the locations of the vrams. Does anyone know the location map such as a0, a1, b0, b1?

M715q Desktop (ThinkCentre) - Type 10M3 - Request bios chip location and useable bios for use with CH341A Programmer.

My pc updated bios through Windows Update and I was greeted with BLACK SCREEN WITH CPU FAN MAX SPEED. I don't think there is even a screen signal, because it triggers my monitor for a couple seconds and then the monitor turns off. I tried the other outputs as well.
                1. I tried clearing bios, resetting bios, removed the CMOS battery, removed m.2 ssd, wifi, and ram. Still black screen with CPU fan blasting.
                2. I tried using the Lenovo BIOS CD and BIOS USB, but neither worked. At least I couldn't get anything to work.
                3. I could only locate two chips that look like bios chips. Could someone verify this
