How to find the right capacitor for my 70's film projector

Today the capacitor connected to the motor of my 1970's EIKI SL2 16mm film projector broke down. While running a film the projector suddenly slowed down and came to a halt very slowly. At the same time I heard a hissing sound from within. When I opened the back of the projector I noticed a yellowish wax-like substance was pouring from the top of the very hot "sh condenser", which I believe is also called a capacitor, connected to the motor. Don't know what caused it, but the projector had been out of service for a while before I ran it today. It may well be coincidence, a normal end of life.

Needless to say I'd like to get it fixed again. The capacitor seems like something replaceable, but the broken original being a 1960's version I am not sure how to identify the correct modern replacement.

The original was made by Nidec and reads "SH CONDENSER 2.3uF 500 WV AC Nidec". It connects to a 220-240V 0.7A Nidec AC induction type electro motor with a 144-168W power consumption.

I had a look around on internet to find a suitable replacement, but had no luck finding one with the exact same specs. I don't know how much, of if at all, I can deviate from 2.3uF 500 WV. So my question is what could be a good replacement capacitor spec. Maybe you guys can help get me in the right direction.

Its a common HVAC runcap.

How many leads go into it - how many pins inside.

Number of leads on top: two. One is connected to a red wire, another to a grey wire.

what's on the top?
spade connectors, solder terminals? or just wires coming out of glue?

and what's the length and diameter?

I think you would get away with a 2.2uF or a 2.5uF 500VAC unit in this case.

there are no shortage of motor caps,
it's just a matter of getting the best fit - hence my question about how it's connected to the wires.

stj, it is attached to the wires by solder terminals. See attached photo.

Based on the suggestions I've received so far, I'll be looking for a 500VAC between 2.2uF and 2.4uF or possibly 2.5uF. I've now found some of those units on eBay, as selldoor suggested. I am a bit familiar with soldering and proper wire insulation, so it shouldn't be a problem gettings things connected.
