Hi guys,
On motherboard ACER AN515-52 type LAF951P.
I fixed issue with not starting computer (it was the PQ201 component not working properly).
But after checking everything I have still an issue with secondary SATA connector JHD1 (for HDD typically).
Basically some HDD spin but are not detected by the bios.
On the attached picture there is a cap 0.047uF (47nF) and a resistor, 10ohm. What is their purpose ? and what would happend if I were to replace the caps with lets say, 10nF or 100nF ?
because thats what i got in stock :/
This hybrid radio came in for what is a typical repair for these venerable vintage sets, band-changer control inter-coupler had parted company and left the building. I was going to machine a replacement but I found a supplier for suitable substitutes, anyways further inspection of the RF cage found a cracked snubber capacitor (10nf) a good inch in diameter. So I ordered replacements rated for 2KV the high voltage in this area is around 800 volts, seemed a reasonable compromise, other than the bad solder joints on the valve bases the repair was progressing nicely.
I've got this Yoga laptop for a reasonable price. Seller said it suddenly turned off. However, he or someone else tried to repair it, making the situation even worse: he told me the NPCE388 has been replaced, but nothing else was done.
Actually, some power supply jumpers have been desoldered. Sadly, all of these rails are shorted to ground.
Before going on, take a look at the motherboard. This is the best quality picture I could find of it:
And this is a particular of my board:
I could not find any schematics of this board over the web....
Looking at this remote that isn't working and I find a capacitor missing c29
it appears it needs a 10nF cap in place of the missing capacitor
this cap leads back to pin 8 on this MPU-6050 chip which Pin 8 Is CS in example schematic its a VLOGIC Bypass Capacitor which should connect to ground to pull the chip low for this chip to function.
